        No mangalore via NH17 ... How about kutch?? New year can be spent in the other liquor heaven = Daman.

        Just checked MakeMyTrip.. Hotel Emerald (1 star ) in Nani Daman offers double occupancy room /night at Rs. 1,407. AVAILABLE!!!!

            Mangalore is 950 odd kms so not a bad idea as well, infact if time permits can do coorg as well 160kms one way

            Daman is boring my dear friend...we'll get bored as its too short distance a ride....many guys here go to buy their stock of rum on weekly basis

            We always look South, can we look east as well.....the rest of India is there.....

            P.S: I feel nice to be in these planning stages....wow!!!

                      OK no Rann and Kutch... Anybody wants to come to Lucknow with me ? (jodhpur = 1200, lucknow = 1400, pachmarhi = 955km, mt. abu = 900, mangalore = 900 via nh4 - chitradurg)
