I'm still waiting for guys to confirm to ride to Mahab...no one is ready yet...so i might drop this plan and carry on to a friends B'day party...

So all set for tomorrow? Looks like we have some nice last minute new joinees! This should be fun! I have contacted Tarun, and we shall meet him in Goa on 31st. I am getting this feeling that we wont go to Gokarna once we crash at Palolem :P


- Meet at fountain 8, Panvel at 9:15 for proceeding to pune.
This is going to be a chilly ride, so do wear your thermals if needed. Fuel up adequate for the return journey (if you are planning to ride back)

Tentative Expenses:
Fuel - 1500KMs @ 58 Rs for 45KMPL = ~ 2000RS
Food and Beverages = 1000Rs (lol)

A tentative budget of 4-5K should do good.

Shitz, forgot to inform you on that front - no I won't be needing it. My pillion is coming from Mumbai only so he will wear his helmet. I have a backpack - although it didn't have any helmet holder which is why your backpack seemed like the way to go for the first peelan!

And yeah LOL on the food and alcohol budget too :-D

@Satyen -- I wouldn't be able to make it because I'll have to stay back after the dhaba g2g which is not possible right now (my little girl is not yet one year old and she's quite a handful for one parent - so no overnighters for quite some time) Would have loved to come all the way to Goa and back, but....

So the ride is ON.....i have been in a terrible shape with cough/cold/fever....weeks of continuous work and hectic schedule did take a toll on my health
My CEO was kind enough to grant me a week leave during the christmassy week and out of which i spend 2 days on the bed with fever....
I went ahead and read through all the 12 pages of discussion and wanted to make some comments::::

Sachyn and I are leaving for GOA(Palolem) tomorrow i.e. 29th December 2010, one day before you guys the reason being to find a suitable accommodation for you guys coming in from Pune.
Pradeesh/Gautam has backed out of this ride as they seem to have their priorities in place...
Satyen: I dont have my Mp3 player, hence request you to carry one for me, would be useful for me in goa....

The ideal plan now for us is something like here below

5:00 am: Meet at Chembur
6:00 pm: Goa to scout for places to stay in and around Palolem

30 December 2010
We see if good places to chill in Karwar or Gokharna whilst you guys ride from Pune - Goa
If we find places elsewhere, we drop message to Satyen on his cell phone and you"ll can co-ordinate to reach destination.
***Pune guys leave for Goa (Decide a time suitable as Winzee will be riding from Mumbai to meet you guys in Pune)

Satyen, i see that u have posted Rs. 4000 - Rs. 5000/- should be good enough, for which i strongly disagree...
Depends on where we are going to stay....Goa during the peak season (now) is very expensive...as spoken before, i checked the rates of rooms available at a couple of places and rooms are going for as much as rs.5000/- a night for 2...
anyway...people do carry enough money for the accommodation/fuel and food atleast....rest is all something that we can manage somehow (by not drinking).....
Sachyn and I once we are at Goa...will scout for places upto Karwar on the 30th and we will arrange for something....
Sachyn has been kind enough to carry sleeping bags (2 nos) for emergency purpose...

IMP: Can someone get a bungee cord.....we may need them....

Update: Satyen, Sachin and me will be riding overnight to Bagah (my idea, so don't go pointing fingers!) via the Pune route. I think Pune guys will join us too - Satyen will confirm this. Winzee will let us know tomorrow whether he will ride with us or on the subsequent day. Given the new peelan, the dhaba g2g from our side stands cancelled. I've informed veeral and nin who were going to come along for the dhabha g2g. If we've walked all over someone's dreams of attending the dhaba g2g, we apologize profusely and I agree to burn in hell for a good 3 minutes.

That budget did not include shelter and was planned basis the assumption of crashing in a tent OR heading southwards towards Karwar where we have cheap motels.

I should be carrying my sleeping bag, and probably a tent just for the heck...!
