28th Nov: Checked and cleaned up the bike. Ran through the checklist of things. packed up some munchies. Got the tankbag and the handbag packed up and was all set by 11pm and crashed off in the hope of getting some good night's sleep.
29th Nov: In the rush to hit the sack, I had set the alarm to 2:30am instead of 3:30am. Well, my good old clock went off at the designated time, and off went my sleep. Poof! Why on earth did I set it for 2:30am? Now, no sleep, and I dunno what to do! I got a full 2 hours to ride out, everything is packed, and its all so dark. So I got up and played some Quake to get off any lingering winks of sleep. Went out to re-clean my already cleaned up bike. Man! I have never cleaned my bikes at 3 in the morning in all the 15 years of riding. And it didn't feel anything different anyway. Set the bike up with the bags on it, lubed the chain again, and discovered at 4 in the morning, that my decade old footpump pulls out more air than it pumps in. Damn!
Anyways, I managed to keep myself "busy" and rode out at 5am to discover that I was sweating in the cold morning. My fullarm t-shirt under the Cramster was getting too hot to be in, so I rushed back home to change. Meanwhile Pranay calls me to say that Amit, Veda and himself were at Sony World waiting for me. I asked them to proceed to RMZ and I'll catch up there. Reached RMZ at 5:40am thinking I was last. But vivek arrived after me. Left from RMZ at 6:10am after a brief discussion on the riding formation and hand signals. Here, I was thinking, after having been in so many G2G's, not one of which had any semblance of group and formation riding or cordinated hand signals, this would be yet another one of those. People just talk a lot about it, but no one wants to practice it anyway. I was prepared for a long, haphazard ride, since I knew there were 2 R15's and a P220 in the group and I knew I'll end up 50kms behind in no time (just like what happened in the "Back from the Dead" G2G). Well, I was wrong. I was proved wrong. Hand signals were spot on. The needle was stuck at 70kmph. The staggered formation was never broken in all of the 200 odd kms, right from Bangalore to HH. Professional and disciplined riding, it was a remarkable feeling to ride with this pack.
Reached Woody's at Kolar and devoured the idlies and khara bath in quick time. Reached Palmaner after an incident-free ride and lounged around in the open waiting for the Chennai boys.

Eashwar rides in and tells us that Anand had met with an accident and would be riding with out the fairing. That ZMA was looking like a trackbike with just the stem visible. We leave from Palmaner and head out to HH. Again, the discipline among us just stood out and it was remarkable to ride up like that. I felt I was riding among pro bikers.
With a little bit of waiting and joking around, we got into the designated rooms and headed out for lunch. The rooms were large, airy and exceptionally well-maintained. The much needed food was well prepared, albeit a little spicy. Looking around the resort, it felt like being among the clouds. The sun would shine occasionally, and it would rain minutes later without warning. Being in the clouds never felt so good!
30th Nov: Got up at a leisurely time of 8:30 and headed out for breakfast of idlies, khara bath and dosa. Decided to leave at 11:00am, so packed up everything and took a small stroll around the area to see the mini "zoo", bluff and view-point.
Finally left at 12:10 and headed down at a leisurely pace enjoying the cool air and the view of the hills around you. 20 kms of riding later we discovered that Sudeep had a puncture and was stuck behind. uhoh! Not again! We lounged around waiting to get it fixed. In the meanwhile, the injured bikes from Chennai decided it best to leave and reach Chennai before dark. Anand's ZMA had no fairing, and Srini's bike had no Disc brakes (it had got jammed just that morning). Amit, Archie and Vivek decided to leave as well. So it was Sudeep, Pranay, Veda, Arun and myself with the fab company of Steve and Kiran left behind. 35 kms of riding later, Sudeep's bike coughs again. Luckily, we were in a town and found a Hero Honda service centre. It was the coil. Replaced it and headed off. Another 20 kms later, Veda's bike coughs. And it kept coughing. Kiran's tow-legs towed the bike to the outskirts of Palmaner where we found a mech who diagnosed the problem. It was the coil again. What a coily day! It was 6pm by the time we were ready to take off. Wished Steve and Kiran a safe journey and headed off towards Bangalore. It was decided that Pranay would lead, on account of his bright lights. And it was quite hilarious to see him do the chicken-dance each time he peeped into his RVM's. At a steady 60kmph all the way to Bangalore, with a brief stopover at Woody's, it was fabulous group riding again. It was brilliant to see the glowing lines on Pranay's jacket showing all the hand signals. I was pacing the group in the morning and passing the signals behind. This time, I was tracking the group, and without knowledge, I was still passing signals behind! Duh!
We stopped over at the KR Puram bridge and big adieu to Arun and Sudeep. Veda, Pranay and myself were to go on the Outer ring road till Adugodi, and Veda and me to go till BTM Layout. Interestingly, when all started off, my battery went unconscious! My bike wasn't starting up! WTF? No neutral light, gear in neutral, all ok, but not starting up. Kick started it and it came alive again. Phew! Noted in mind to get the electricals checked tmrw for a loose contact. Caught up with Veda and Pranay, and from Sarjapur, without us knowing about it, was Kris following us in his Maruti. Caught up at Silk board junction, and exchanged some hellos. Reached home at 11:30pm.
Odo reading: 488kms from home to home.
Mileage: 58kmpl
Fuel guzzled: 8.5 lts.
Looking back, it was so enjoyable a ride, that I am already looking forward for another. Pranay, Veda, Vivek, Amit, Archie, Arun and sudeep, it was great riding with all of you and I look forward for another one soon. It was very nice meeting up with the Chennai riders as well, and I hope to meet and ride with u guys again (but I dont intend to join the MotoGP u guys were having up ahead!).
Now, as Pranay said earlier, I need to do the Get out!
Cheers and Good night!

We missed a pro-camera and a pro-photographer on this ride.
, it was time to head to the cottage, Lots of us just went for a quick nap which just extended well into the evening. When I woke up the fog really had set it and after usual chatting session it was time to take photos of the bikes...
