    ITINERARY 1:

    Day1( 5am to 4-5pm max.)
    Delhi-Ropar-Mandi-Ghataasani-Barot (roughly 530kms)
    >Stay at PWD RH(PWD guest house in Barot - India Travel Forum, BCMTouring)

    Day2
    Barot-Ghataasani-Mandi-Pandoh-Aut-Banjar-Jibhi-Ghiyagi (100+ kms)
Stay at Shringi Vatika if RH is not available.

    Day3
Ghiyagi-Shoja-Jalori-Serolsar Lake and back, if weather conditions permit.

    Day4
    Ghiyagi-Mandi-Chandigarh-Delhi.

    ITINERARY2:

    Day1
    Delhi-Shimla-Kufri-Narkanda-Kingal-Sainj-Rampur-Jeori-Sarahan
PWD RH(gharat) or GH at Bhimkali Temple Premises.
Its a really long ride for around 14-15hrs. Since we would be crossing Kufri-Narkanda during afternoon, chances of finding black ice patches are less.

    Day2
Rest in Sarahan and explore the beauty around.

    Day3
    Sarahan-Rampur-Sainj-Luhri-Behna-Ani-Khanag
Its a ride for not more than 5-6hrs. We will try to reach Khanag in time so that you can try the trek to Serolsar lake if the route is open.

    Day4
    Khanag-Ani-Behna-Luhri-Sainj-Kingal-Narkanda-Kufri-Shimla-Delhi.

Do let me know your views/suggestions on the above itineraries than only we can finalize the things and booked RH/GH for our stay accordingly.

    Hello Sarab!!

I think i am more comfortable with (Itinary 1). And its done from my side.

A FACT HERE: since last two consecutive years, i made two failed attempts to cross Jalori Pass from Shimla Distt. to the other side of Kullu Distt. due to snowed down motorways. So i am just hoping that my third attempt gonna be worthwhile.

Dear sambak, it is almost certain that jalori would be snowed out at that time and get ready to face this disappointment. However, I am thinking of including tirthan valley in our itinerary on third day stay.

      Day1 Delhi-Chandigarh-Mandi-Ghataasani-Barot

      Day2 Barot-Ghataasani-Mandi-Pandoh-Aut-Banjar-Jibhi-Ghiyagi
start early from Barot and reach Ghiyagi early enough to see if we can ride upto Jalori and check if we can trek to Serolsar.

      Day3 Explore Tirthan Valley

      Day4 Ghiyagi-Mandi-Chandigarh-Delhi.

What about itinerary 2? I guess sarahan-Khanag route wil be more scenic but it surely includes hectic riding hours. Do let me know your views on it.

        Panipat
        Karnal
        Pipli
        Ambala
        NH-22
At Ambala, Take NH 22 towards Dera Bassi
        Zirakpur
        NH-21
        cross Chandigarh
        Kharar
        on NH 21 via Kurali

        Mandi
        Pandoh
        Aut
        Largi
        Banjar
        END at Shoja

On this Route - the Distance from New Delhi to Shoja is 520 km Approx.

We can cover the whole journey in one go or if we wish; we could stay at swarghat and then proceed towards Shoja the next day.

        Wot say??

i am game for it bro, no problem as if now.We can cover this stretch in one go if we would start early from Delhi.
I have been to this route upto Aut when i visited kothi in april last year. never been to barot, shoja and tirthan valley either. so its kinda first time for me to these places. Do Let me know your final verdict for this trip.

Lets discussed the things that we need to address on priority basis:
          1. accommodation options:
barot: PWD Rest House: need to check the availablity with DC office.
ghiyagi/shoja: PWD RH(Shoja) or Shringi Vatika.
Tirthan valley: RH or some pvt GH ??

Till now i am riding solo for this trip and there is a chance that one of friend might drop in at the last moment.

                          Update:
Yesterday i called up in Joginder Nagar EE, office to book RH at barot for 26th jan and guess what, he informed me that roads to barot valley has been blocked due to heavy snowfall somehow i insisted to take my booking for 26th as in the case roads get cleared by that time( eventually it will get cleared in day or two max.).

Bro, i will definately try to be there at dhaba on sunday.
i'll be able to confirm my presence by saturday eve.

Edit: Most probably my friend will accompany us in this ride. Is there any confirmations from your friends as well?

Yesterday went to Karol Bagh, got my helmet's visor replaced from Chopras, procure new set of front disc pads and left side RVM.
Though still looking out for Michelin Sirac 120/90-17(rear), it is not available in major shops in kbagh. Any idea

P.S: how about staying in FRH for 27th / 28th, it is located in Jibhi and just 2-3kms away from Pammi aunty's delicious food We can stay there in FRH and ride down 2-3kms for delicious food.

if you want I can contact people at Shoja, and you can stay at raja Guest house, beautiful place and nice people. He will arrange for a bonfire in the evening and then dinner can be made on order as well.... you just need to keep him updated about your presence out there.

Current situation is quite bad with heavy snowfall, and in current days it will still be snowing so think about it and let me know if you need it.
