So finally it's decided that we (Sarab and me) and probably one more Guy gonna leave by 25th night at around 3 oclock.....but going by the weather report being shown on television; it is suggested to me from certain quarters to postpone this trip to some other date (say early next month)....but i think it's getting hard for me and other of my fellow riders to resist the excitement hence the scheduled ride to Shoja, Ghiyagi would go as planned as has been mutually decided.

If my other fellow XBHPians have other and better ideas and suggestions; so please put them here; we need it.

And if anyone interested in joining this pagalpan of ours; then please come forward, we would be more than happy for your precious and interesting company.

Thank you so much sir for the help and support!!

And yes!! this is how we have planned to; we'll not be proceeding further without taking into account the overall conditions be it weather or roads, and will only try to cover as much as we could; without being subjected to over confidence. i am very well keeping it in mind as always that it's an adventure which i dont want; to be turned out as misadventure....

              thanx once again Sir!!

@ Hoodibaba sir: Thankyou for the link. Your log is inspiring and hats off to you for this daring ride of yours!!
Kashif's pictures are tempting but simultaneously reflecting the harsh weather/road conditions of the Shimla-Narkanda road. I guess road conditions of Kullu district would be atleast better than that of Shimla-Narkanda stretch.(except shoja to jalori stretch)

                Update:

1.got the bike's rear tyre replaced with Zapper C.
2.Bought Duck Back raincoat from Karol Bagh.(rs 1150/-)
                3.Saddle bags are also ready.
4.Called up caretaker of Barot PWD RH, according to him the roads are very much driveable, nothing serious. Would like to take final update on wednesday.

Dear Sarab and Sambak, ..........mine would be peanuts in comparison to your Shoja-Jalori trip. The present conditions are much much more difficult there.

All the best. Do it, as far as you can. Hope Mandi route would be better and you both succeed in your feat upto Jalori Pass.

May the Sun Shine on both of you

                            Sad News Guys!!

Couldn't make it till Shoja-Ghiyagi. had a brutal fall in Roopnagar due to gravel on an under construction road and bridge; Got injured and lost the handle's alignment and it (my bike) was just not ready to move any further. somehow managed to control the tilting handle bar and reached till a Dhaba there.

Started searching some local mechanic or any transport office so that i could load up the bike onto it and bring it back to delhi. unfortunately couldnt find any because it was Republic Day.

Once the Sun came out, i started asking people, then someone suggested to reach Chandigarh first there as he said i could find atleast some local mechanic and first aid too. and i did that.

Found a roadside mechanic, he said he could only make it little manageable but not absolutely aligned, seeing no other option i agreed to do it so that i could reach back delhi.

Reached Delhi the next day after an 18 hours continuous ride that covered 650 KMs.

Because i didnt want to spoil my fellow rider's journey so i asked him to go ahead...and he went.

Now recuperating at home, once fine will again tied up the saddle bag and will leave and try to touch my desired destination

                            Thanx

Even after an unfortunate event, managed to complete my solo ride and returned back to delhi on 28th Jan at 10pm.

                              Quick overview of my trip:

                              1. 25th-26th Jan: Delhi(12.15am)-Banur-Bilaspur-Mandi-Ghatasani-Barot Valley(2.20pm)
                              >Kms Covered=540, Stay at PWD RH, Barot.

                              2. 27th Jan: Barot Valley(9.30am)-Ghatasani-Mandi-Aut-Jibhi-Ghiyagi-Shoja-Jibhi(4pm)
                              >Kms Covered=170, Stay at FRH, Jibhi.
                              >Managed to reach shoja and returned back just 3kms short of Jalori Pass. The inclination of the road is horrendous and its even more dangerous while descending back that too on ice layered roads.

                              3. 28th Jan: Jibhi(10am)-Aut-Swarghat-Kiratpur-ambala-Delhi(9.30pm)
                              >Kms Covered= 545

                              Total Kms= 1245

Dear sambak thanx for all your support and it was very unfortunate that we both could not complete our ride as planned, never the less we will definately plan something in near future too.
Wish you a speedy recovery and best wishes.
