Hehe...I didn't realize the difficulty until I stopped sweating; it really shivers me now though A lone biker, with no people or animal around, full of sand where you really can't run incase of emergency...really scaring me now But that day, it was full of adventure. I really should Thank God for siding with my mind to return

No re...I'm quite disappointed as I was looking forward for that entire Southern coast ride; like you said, there's next time & I'll probably tag with someone & visit even more secluded places.

Will post more pics by this evening

After dilly dallying the GMap for over an hour, I decided to do the famous Punalur-Shenkottai route & then come back to Trivandrum. One of the reasons being I missed out this ride with my fellow mates last month.

      So the route was planned...

Finally when I started it was around 6:00 AM

      Roads were inviting

      Scenaries were amazing

This looked like road to heaven; pics are simply eye wash, in reality, the ambience, the sound of insects, the birds, the cool air, the green trees cannot be described over words or pics

Soon I hit the famous Punalur hanging bridge

After that the roads were even inviting

@Aargee:- Wonderful as always. Well, what you have done till the point where you thought safe to return, I term it as success.

With regards to bungee cords, I would not trust any local ones. I had good experience in our TSG2G-2011. Researched on the net and got couple of good quality ones from abroad. I bought the assorted bungee cords of Highland and couple of single pack MasterLock for the touring purpose. They are worth every cent. Trust me you'll love the built quality. Next time when we meet shall bring them so that you can have a look. Buy them and plan another trip.

After a while, I stopped at this location; the scenaries were getting more & more amazing & beautiful. I think this is Paalaruvi because after few Kms from this location, there was entry to Paalaruvi, but the range officers said entry is prohibited due to lack of water.

Quite strange because, here there's a full fledge water flow & how come there's air flowing at that location They said it has been closed to public since Mar 19. Anyway, didn't want to argue with them & spoil my mood further, so I carried on.

Thank you for your encouragement saar , but you know, deep inside of my mind is the uncompleted trip, that still keeps me missing

Finally I got the scene I was waiting for

Closer look; was so excited as a child to the see the place in reality of those places which have been portrayed in movies

Seriously...2 lanes rocks better than 4 lanes

              Fields of TN

And then I spotted this at Coutrallam

Needless to say, this ride has become a BFast ride now, just that its not a Sunday

Wait a minute!!! I should've ideally stopped & returned at Shenkottai, I not only came to Thenkasi, but also to Coutrallam. Anyway, I've ample time & nothing to do, so I decided, I'll take the Ambasamudram-Kallidakurichi-Kalakkad-Panakudi-Aralvaimozhi-Nagercoil-Trivandrum
                Awesome roads

                Great plains

End of the day I'd clocked about 333 Kms; went to fuel station to tank up & it held about 8.8 lts. Surprisingly a whooping 37.8 Kmpl for the entire trip. Learnt a valuable lesson, keep the speeds within 91-95 & you get an excellent FE. The second highest being clocked between Keezhakarai-Tuticorin for 35.xx Kmpl.

Circuit map end of the day

                  Day Eight
With heavy heart, I've to ride back home, but still I'm excited for one reason that I'm doing one of my most awaited trip...Chennai-Trivandrum, just that it happened unexpectedly & the other way. Nevertheless, I'm happy

Was riding quick, so there're almost no pics enroute except these...

very nice log indeed.. even I wanted to do the entire coast from mumbai to kolkatta but never had time to do it.. some day, some day for sure!

                      btw awesome pics!
A good long ride can clear your mind, restore your faith, and use up a lot of fuel.

Always be ready (get geared) to fall and then think of sitting on the motorcycle.

That wasn't a bad trip after all... Where's that location with that road under the bridge? The one in many South Indian Movies...

Aargee, what awesome pictures you have posted in your travelogue ....I had been to most places in train or in a car,and Like you said the pictures can not do justice to the actual scenery ....I still remember my waiting at Vanchi Maniyachi station in early morning, and seeing the train coaches swaying to the wind(meter gauge),or going from Ernakulam to TVM in early morning in rain/winter season in train with windows open, enjoying the back water scenario, going for a evening walk in Ayirkudi near Thenkasi ,with fields on either side of road, and Pea cocks casually crossing the road, riding from this place to Achankoil during rainy season, crossing many small mountain streams cutting across the road.etc.,
I am Happy you have enjoyed your moments ,which will remain forever with you,....and thanks for sharing the beautiful Pictures.
