^^^ Why to PM? Is there some secret ingredient to ride in cross winds other than crouching as close as possible to the bike & riding?

There is no secret ingredient. Just lean your bike a bit against crosswinds and you are good to go as fast as you want to. eg. if wind is blowing from left side (which it did most of the days on this ride), just lean your bike by around 5 degrees to left to compensate and ride.

As I had crossed Rajasthan via NH 8 (Ajmer-Udaipur) for my trip to Rann of Kutch in the first week of April, 2012, I am waiting eagerly for rest of the travelogue.

It is really difficult to ride in blistering heat with strong surface winds in the desert/coastal area, especially on sharp turns when you are riding at high speed even on State/National High Ways, whichever bike make it may be and above 100kmph is really dangerous. You need to be a very very good rider to maintain high speed.

To avoid the hot winds of Rajasthan, I did the Dholavira to New Delhi return trip on 6-7 April, 2012 non-stop (with small tea breaks) in one day and crossed most of Rajasthan at night.

I had done this on my leh ride & it worked! This was mostly when we were traveling from delhi to punjab.

This bikes were fantastic with constant speeds of 120+kmph.

Day 1 - Didn't had much to capture bec the heat was tiring.

                          Posting 2nd day soon
