      Mesmerizing again.....!

      1) How did those camel ride guys charged you? The last time I went there they duped us with 700 Rs each for a camel ride, & they said before that they will take to the National park (at last when we did camel ride he showed National park from a distance and showed us some deers), so so......... but it was a very short camel ride and when at last I asked him about national park (inside) ride he said we had to take permission from Jaisalmer, blah blah... Seriously in all the places in Rajasthan I found that they try to loot officially....

      2) At the Sam dunes they even lied about the Border movie shooting, this hero, that scene shooted.... But as you said it was rather SAD and DIRTY dunes. Infact I should'nt call them as dunes, it was the most disheartening dunes sight for me.

One thing I learnt from my last trip to Rajasthan is that, in all the places, rates are exceptionally high, they know nothing about quality and are the LIARS as I should call them. (I am talking about those Camel walas, guides,.... other Fort and entertainment associated businessmans or what should I call them.)

Jodhpur fort (Meharangarh) is the best as per me. It reminded me of old times. Truly a ROYAL QILA!

Could you explain more on the club thingy? How much the membership costs and where are actually there locations in India! (sorry for OT, if you could PM me, the better it is!)

the camel guys tried to cheat us but we being stags with no family with us to feel embarrassed about, bargained a lot and basically it was off season so they charges us some 200-250 bucks each.

Will pm you about club thingy.

Umed Club to Udaipur, Rajasthan - Google Maps
                Flavour of the Day

Udaipur Boy Father : Beta, it is very simple. Just invite them to visit Crystal Gallery & Durbar Hall at our famous City Palace with all their friends & family members. Entrance fee of 500 bucks per head and a camera fee of 200 bucks per camera is a sure shot knock out punch.

I was proud of Pune because of its famous rude boards but found this outside our hotel building -

This year in January I too had done a trip to Rajasthan on my Ninaj250R

Log and Photos --> Here "Rajasthan JAUNT"

I was traveling light. Just a tank bag.

I'm wondering since u have taken the saddle bag, did the continuous friction between bag and fairing fade the paint little bit or not...!!

It tend to happen on some bikes.

Trip to Rajasthan in Summer !!!! You must be crazy.

But, afterall, it is not just pure imagination, you have DONE it. Must say great achievement and that too with damaged rim.

Write up gives me a mixed feeling, although it is very informative but it also shows inexperience regarding the cramster being got damaged as you should have known you are on Ninja and should have taken proper precautions, it is not machine's fault. As for damaged Rim, it was due to reckless driving and again not machine's fault. As for asking for directions, again you had not done proper homework and should have drawn a rough map of the route you would be following. I wonder whether you had checked your route on google earth atleast a few times before leaving ? I may be rude but if you keep the above factors in mind, you would not face many problems in your future endeavours. So I wish you many many Happy and Safe Rides in times to come.

Sad to read that You had opted Rajasthan (in Summer) over Gujarat. The story would have been totally different had you been to Gujarat.

If you have never been to Gujarat, especially Rann of Kutch (Little Rann and the Great Rann on way to Dholavira), I would highly recommend you to be there. I been there on soloride from Delhi in April this year and leaving the Rajasthan part (which was same as you have found), Gujarat is simply awesome and the hospitality is truly unbelievable. I have many such experiences throughout Gujarat during the span of 6 days.

PS: The State highways are better than even the National Highways throughout. Even in the remotest part of gujarat the single lane roads are smooth and a dream to ride on.

I may look biased but it is true.

Below is the link to my travelogue of Gujarat Trip, in case you with to go through it in your liesure time. Would love to see you there and others as well.

It surely happens on Ninja too. I had purchased a 2 ft x 3 ft soft orange cloth (used for car cleaning) and spread it under saddlebag and tank bag. (You can see orange in bike photographs). This saved bike from scratching.

If you know me, you would find that I am one of the most obsessive planner.

                        1. First of all, the saddlebags are not cramster. I have never said that. Secondly, I know how to tie a saddlebag to a ninja. I have ridden more than 5000 km with saddlebags on my ninja without any difficulty. I rode 700 km on the first day of this ride without any issue. However, there was a mistake from my side on second day in tying the saddlebag. I have never mentioned that it was bike's fault.

                        2. I seriously doubt your statement about reckless riding. Me and my riding partner, Amit were riding at the same speed and went through the same pothole at same speed. He did not have a bent rim but I had. Reason unknown. I have done more than 31,000 km on my ninja without any issue till now. Again I have never mentioned that it was bike's fault.

                        3. You are right, your statement about homework and maps is extremely rude. I have been posting google map links for each day's ride. If I can waste so much time on that, do you really think that I would go on a ride without proper homework? We had all the maps. I had mentioned the difficulty in following inside the city roads to reach our destination. You are requested to complete all your homework, visit Pune and find a hotel located deep inside the city without using GPS. If you can really do that, hats off to you.

I have mentioned things that happened. Do you see me putting blame on anyone else? If yes, please point out the relevant para, I would edit / delete it.

                        4. Thanks for your wishes about happy and safe rides.

What gave you the impression that it was a sad ride? We both enjoyed it immensely.

Amit braked hard, bike fishtailed but gratefully did not change the line. We both somehow managed to remain on our bikes. Otherwise, we would had returned to Pune within couple of hours from our so called 10 day ride
An uncle on his ancient Rajdoot wanted to cross road and did not want to believe his eyes about two bikes riding towards him. He must have thought that he is dreaming because he still came out of side street and stopped in middle of the road. Amit was leading and unfortunately managed to avoid hitting the uncle. Otherwise, he would have been the first person to reach velocity of Agni V.
We had kept our helmets in Pushkar and did not want to go back 20 km to fetch them
                            However, by the end of this road, we found out that we had covered the 86 km stretch in . . . . . . 35 minutes. . . . . yes 35 minutes. . . . . you read that right. . . . . An average speed of 147 kmph.
What does it convey to the readers ? Besides at a number of places you have mentioned driving way beyond speed of 100 kmph and at other places complained of rough roads. I fail to understand what do you want to convey.

Although I liked the travelogue, but you could have avoided writing too much about the saddlebag and the rim issue.

When we come back after any trip, we forget the difficulties faced and cherish the good time spent.

The passages you highlighted certainly does not convey reckless driving; especially on my part.

Please understand that speeds above 100 or 200 or even 300 kmph should not be considered reckless if the road and traffic conditions permit it. A speed of even 25 kmph can be considered extremely reckless if someone tries to do it in a traffic jam.

Please understand that we both are 40+ in age with families and are familiar with our bikes for nearly 3 years. I have been riding bikes nearly every day for last 25 years without a single crash. While this does not make us immune to crashes, these factors help us keep our feet firmly on ground and avoid unnecessary risks.

The roads were fantastic and traffic free for around 95% of distance and bad in 5%.

Chill. Like I said earlier, I am not complaining about ride, bike, saddlebag, roads. . . I immensely enjoyed this ride. Same was the case with Amit, who was riding with me. We really cherish this ride and hope that it would result in many more rides for us. I am just mentioning things that happened. No deeper meaning to be derived from it.
