Day3 Ranthambhor Fort and Wildlife Safari Part2

We came back to the hotel, had lunch(yummy dal khichdi, sabji, roti etc.) and went to sleep for a while.

Mr. Bansal The Hotel owner told us a few things about the place which I dont remember as I was very sleepy and the good food made it impossible for me to keep my eyes open !

Left the hotel at around 2:30pm and reached the place where the canter was waiting for us. We were surprised to see an entire canter for us only ! But we later got to know we were the 1st ones to be picked up ! We placed ourselves in the best of the seats and made ourselves comfortable.

The 1st entrance of the National Park..

The 2nd entrance beyond which public vehicles are not allowed.

Our very 1st 'wild animal in its natural habitat'

          A coromorant

A Sambar,a monkey and a peacock in one frame..

Huh! Is this all we could get to see? I mean seriously it was getting monotonous..deer sambar etc. I'd seen back in Sanjay Gandhi National Park,Mumbai as well !

As I said this we got to see something different..

          A sambar wearing heels !

I asked an uncle sitting next to me if we could really get to the see the tiger and he looked at me with a smirk saying "100% dikhega!"
He had come with his wife and son from Jaipur and it was the 6th time they had come there. They didnt get to see the tiger only for the 1st time(as booking was through someone else) but later all 5times. He told me that we had come through the right person,Faim Khan and not to worry at all.

Quite a lot of time passed but no luck !

Coming up - Day3 Ranthambhor Fort and Wildlife Safari Part3 Tigress spotted!

Day3 Ranthambhor Fort and Wildlife Safari Part3 Tigress spotted!

She was in sitting very calmly in the water for quite sometime without any major movements. The forest officers identified her as tigress no. 22 on our route no.2.

Thankfully I somehow balanced myself climbed over the cage of the canter and the driver allowed me to sit confortably over the windshield! Thanks to him I could get these photographs.

Others in the canter thanked me after they took a photo of my camera's screen in their mobile phone, cameras !

Frankly see she wasnt as close as it seems ! Thanks to the zoom feature of cameras !

We were there for quite a long time but the tigress didnt budge and the forest officer from the other canter asked all canters to proceed back as it was getting dark. Our driver reversed our vehicle and took us on another route where there was a toilet. But none of us were that scared !

Just above our parked vehicle at a very close distance..

              The actual angry birds !

And some more..they were probably hungry...but we didnt have anything to feed them (neither is it good to feed anything to them)

Our driver and forest officer were pretty sure she would come out of the water and took us back to the same spot.

Our driver got back on the road we were supposed to go to and she came there..

She continued in our path(or we were in her path) But also did keep a watch on us.

She was busy marking her territory by peeing on rocks, trunks of trees and moving on at her pace.

It got darker and the tigress went into the jungle. We also had to go back(read as rush back) as it reminded me of the Maharashtra State Transport (ST) ride. Our spines broke, bottoms got flattened but yes it was worth it! And if that wasnt enough I also got an opportunity of fulfilling my dream..capturing our national bird out there in the wild !

              The Ranthambhor fort from below..

Went back to Faim Khan and thanked him a lot! He promised he would do his best everytime we or anyone visited again !

Came back to the hotel, had dinner, went to sleep. We knew we had to cover a distance of more than 850kms the next day. A kind of a saddlesore run which turned out to be even worse!

Coming up - Day4 Ranthambhor To Amritsar (In 1day? Yes im not kidding!)

Simply fab! What I like about your log the most is:
                  1. It's to the point, precise.
                  2. The perfect balance between words and pics.
                  3. All the references your provide (Eg: Odo reading/ Trip reading, Links to FB and stuff) simple make this a very effective log.

Found time to log on to xBHP.com today and I certainly can sacrifice a few hours of my preparation for GMAT for this amazing log.

Dear Nin, i would like to congratulate you for your grand trip. This is no doubt an award winning write up. And your pics are really mind blowing. Especially your teasers, they really give a very good snap shot of your entire trip. Photography is also too good. As of now i could just go thru page 1,2,3 & 7 thoroughly. I will check rest of the pages later. Mean while i could not stop myself to compliment you.

I would also congratulate your pulsar 135LS. You have well said, its not the bike its about the biker.... but your bike supported you very well...kudos to it...

                          Keep riding...
