Raghu, I enjoyed reading through the entire log. Liked you narration. I am sure you have learnt a lot in this adventurous trip about tough riding. Liked your spirit to continue the ride even after a bad fall. I had faced similar incidents, and had learnt to take it easy; accidents are part and parcel of riding. I am glad you were positive and enjoyed the trip.

Looks like the trial to Kodachadri hasn't changed in 5 years. The climb to Kodachadri is dangerous even when all the conditions are good. It was quite dangerous you climbed up and down without foot rest. We had climbed the Kodachadri stretch at night around 7 p.m. Had few hart-in-mouth moments, had to leave the bike on the floor and then lift it up to good position. We couldn't see anything on either side as it was pitch dark. At one point, we felt clutch burnt smell due to constant 1st gear climb. We had to cool our bikes for 15 minutes in pitch dark. While climbing itself I thought about the descent and was worried a lot. With loose sand and gravel and steep descent, it would be quite dangerous if the front wheel locks. Luckily, we negotiated well and reached the bottom quite safe.

We went to Thirthahalli from Kodachadri, and the ride between Tirthahalli and Agumbe was one of the best rides for us to remember (in two ways). The road was in very good shape and has lots of curves. Enjoyed thoroughly riding and taking the nice corners. Midway to Agumbe, I found I had lost the riding jacket. I went back to see but unfortunately couldn't find it. Though I was sad that I lost jacket, I was also happy that I had to ride that beautiful stretch twice . But, due to this I missed out Agumbe sunset. Lord Sun just closed the doors by the time I reached Agumbe. From Agumbe we too halted at Sringeri for night. The road was not bad at that time; it was really good.

Kudremukh is one of the most beautiful places and I enjoyed thoroughly riding through those hills; nice curves and nice newly-laid roads. We were also lucky enough to have meals at Annapurna Temple. It was almost 5:30 when we left Horanadu and had to ride through some bad roads till Belur. Belur-Hassan was an excellent stretch with proper markings visible at night. We were constantly cruising at 100 kmph at night. I was insanely cold at night and as I lost my riding jacket, I was shivering like a puppy. We were very sleepy too and stopped at Coffee Day to keep us alert, but we slept for 30 minutes after having coffee . We finally understood that its impossible to reach bangalore by night. So stayed at a Temple Satram at Channarayapatnam.

I guess, I wrote a mini log about my trip . And BTW, you have a nice brother who encourages you in riding.

    Happy riding and ride safe.

              Hi Abhi,

Thanks It is roughly around nine K ms...to be honest I did not keep a watch on the distance while going up and down...Going up took one hour. While coming down it took close to around one and a half hour. Climbing up was far easy than climbing down. Climing down took a heavy toll on my body. But once done it was exhilarating. Wish you guys a very happy and safe ride

First of all, huge respects to you for your determination to keep on riding in spite of such injuries and broken foot peg. Helmets off for that. The pics and the narration were beautiful. I too like the Kudremukh stretch a lot. I have been there twice post monsoon in a cage. It still has remained as a dream of mine to ride in that stretch between Sringeri and Kudremukh. Again, a wonderful log. Ride safe

What a fantastic trip log. Loved it!

I read every word that you wrote and personally I feel that words speak MUCH MUCH louder than photos. Yeah unfortunately biking on xbhp has become linked to photography and god ****ing knows how this trend started but reading someone's words about an experience, no matter how bad, broken or awesome their English is, conveys (to me) emotions which went through the riders mind as s/he was experiencing those events. And that for me is much more valuable than looking at beautiful photos.

So for that thanks for your thought and effort in writing this trip log.

I have been following your posts since quite some time now and in fact have used your previous trip logs as resources to help in planning my trips as well (especially the Kudremukh & Kemanagundi logs - I visited both places in cars though). Keep riding and keep writing!

                            Thanks!

Photography and motorcycling have become linked ever since every tom dick and harry started affording dslrs.
And, to me, philosophy is more important than photography!

Thanks a lot for those kind words Sid Really appreciate it and that is some encouragement which means a lot to me I took to biking just two years ago and I am still very amateur when it comes to riding, writing and photography. But, I am evolving with whatever bike, gadgets and tools I have.
I completely agree with what you said. Photographs are important for a trip log. However, words are also very important if not more. I have come across trip logs on xBhp wherein words had more impact on me than the photographs. Words certainly give us more insight into a rider's mind and definitely provide more information. No doubts about it and I am in complete agreement with what you have to say about philosophy and motorcycling

Thanks again for your kind and encouraging words and I am happy that whatever I write and click are useful to at least one rider-friend of mine

                              Keep riding and driving Sid.
