Diwali was just around the corner and I was having a day off from office, hence making it an extended weekend. It goes without saying that I did not want to stay at home, doing nothing. I was chatting with couple of xBHPians over coffee in our beloved GTA at BTM, Bangalore when I pulled out this thought of mine in front of everybody present there. Rider instinct showed when people started showing interest right away and a heated up discussion started, to decide over the place. Me, personally did not want to celebrate Diwali like any other year, rather wanted to be on the road, exploring. However, some others had commitment back home so the plan remained dicey as we left GTA.
As the Diwali weekend was fast approaching, I was becoming restless. Good things come unplanned and uninvited. In a normal discussion with one of our xBHP Bangalore riders, came up the idea of exploring Dudhsagar waterfalls. I was overjoyed seeing that some plan finally came up before the weekend and that too a destination which is unexplored by me. I did not waste much time and conveyed the ride destination to some of the riders who showed interest earlier in the meet. I was elated to see the plan was accepted with open arms by the other riders as well.
Now, the routemap. After going to couple of blogs in google and referring to team-bhp, we found that not many have covered this falls on bike. We quickly gathered in some useful information about the road conditions from Bangalore to Sonaulim, Goa and finalized the route map, however the information was not with respect to a bike.
Having less information related to which road would take us where, we decided that we would finalize the route once we reach the destination. The 4 riders met up in the morning of our riding day to finalize the things to carry and to discuss meeting points. That being said, without any delay, let me introduce you to the riders.
1. Advyth (a.k.a. Vykier). His steed is a mean CBR250R. Likes: Cornering, Drag. A solo tourer.
2. Snehith (a.k.a. snehithpereira). His steed is a mean Hero Karizma ZMR. Likes: Long tours, Drag. Again, a solo tourer.
3. Ashish (a.k.a. seahorses). His steed is a mighty RE Classic 500. Likes: Thumpers, Speed. A tourer who does a mix and match of solo and group rides.
4. Me, Suvrajit (a.k.a. SuvraGanguly). My steed is a Bajaj Avenger 180. Likes: Tourer, explore new places. I mostly ride in groups (prefer small groups though
).The start time of our ride was set to 11:00 PM sharp and we were supposed to meet each other at different places in NICE road. Anxiously, and moreover excited, everyone dispersed and started preparing for the ride.
What happened in the next two days was a dream. Riding alongside such pros was an awesome feeling, along with the experience that i gained from it.
