Re: 4 Riders, 1300+ KMs, 2 days : A ride to Explore Dudhsagar Waterfalls

WOW... guys, I cannot tell you how much I enjoyed that one... every bit of it.

Firstly, let me clarify something - do not underestimate that Steed of his @SuvraGanguly mentions, he's just being modest... that machine was ridden by a tourer who knows how to push it. I saw him doing constant 105s, taking on night traffic with utter ease and not complain about anything even once - all that in the midst of having the responsibility of capturing images for the tlog and being the accounts guy... Big Thumbs up bro.

Oh and those curves... oh my god... the place where man and machine become one, whole and complete... the superlative bliss of rolling the united central mass around like ice skating... I am drooling... want more! WANT MORE ! MUCHHHH MORE!

What I loved :

The way @SuvraGanguly looks strapped on with his sunglasses on the bike riding it. This man is meant to do bigger tours on a bigger machine. Don't you dare quit riding bro.
Watching snehithpereira leading up top like a beacon with his helmet blinkers guiding us. Loved it when he let that steed of his steam up.
Canyon Carving and heavy traffic riding with @seahorses , I also have to mention his steed with that Goldstar exhaust - the note is so darn sweet and wood deep, loud when you want it and not when you dont... just perfect... absolutely loved tailing him.

Cannot wait for the entire travelogue to come up.

Here's my 2 cents ... trust Suvra Bhai to post up the tlog.

It was a pleasure indeed to ride with you Vykier bro, aka the corner king. Not to forget, the stretch from Hubli to Dharwad and from Dudhsagar falls to Margao where we had most of the fun. Shit man, again feeling like to go back to those moments, and start the jugalbandi which was going on between us.

WHAT THE FUN(WTF) guys.
Simply awesome and enthralling pics and tlog.
Getting goosebumps after reading the detailings.
Again regretting for not making this header as 5 riders instead of 4 riders.
Anyways I am more happy and curious to see/feel the whole package and moreover excited to be part of it from next time.

Day 1: And the Ride begins..

Each one of us wanted to take a power nap before start of the journey. Only reason being, the ride was a night ride and there was a chance of us falling asleep on our bikes. Alas, every single attempt to take a nap failed, for each one of us (although i know people like Advyth and Snehith might not have even tried. So read "each one of us" as in me and Ashish). Did some quick packing, since the plan was only for two days, i personally did not bother about clothes . I was more interested in carrying my mobile charger and other accessories. Anyways, got ready quickly and made my way towards Ashish's house.

Ashish was already ready and waiting for me. His matt black bull was looking like a black stallion, all set to race . I wanted to click a few pictures but then we had set respective timings to meet with the rest so i postponed my idea for the time being. We both started off from his house at 11:00 PM sharp and made our way towards NICE road junction, Bannerghatta road. Traffic was already less and thumper was making me glued to its tail. Slowly but steadily, we made our way past NICE road toll and headed towards Kanakpura junction, meeting point number 2, to meet with Advyth.

It was 11:15PM and when we reached there, Advyth was not there yet so i utilized this time to click the first picture of our steeds

Advyth reached within few minutes and after a small greeting, we made our way towards the last meeting point, Magadi road junction, to meet with Snehith. He was already waiting for us with his hazard light turned 'on' on his ZMR. As of now, things were going really well and i was happy that there were no delays for the riders. We were all right on time and as per the plan, we kick started our journey, right at 11:45 PM.

First half hour was simply superb! Cool wind gushing on the face, Ashish's thumper, Snehith's joel exhaust and Advyth's traffic cutting-it was simply a mindblowing experience till now. We were maintaining an average of 90s on the NH4 that too when the highway was surprisingly crowded with VRL buses and trucks. We were in need of some tea/coffee and most importantly Snehith had to change his visor to a transparent one. We hence made one halt at a Cafe Coffee Day just before the Tumkur flyover. Took out my camera immediately and started clicking some shots .

After spending some good time over hot coffee and sandwiches, we decided lets not waste any more time but to start our first non-stop leg to Chitradurga. This is the time you need to have songs playing on your ear, makes you feel awake and you enjoy the ride as well. I was simply enjoying the ride.

But, some say a ride is not complete without any blockages. Around 80 odd kms from Chitradurga, we faced a massive traffic jam. Vehicles at standstill. We looked for small passages between buses and trucks and slowly made our way to the front, only to find that there has been a big accident. A KSRTC government bus has hit a truck which was parked at one side, killing 5 people on board . The road was blocked by the NHAI officials and they were clearing out the dead bodies. We were waiting eagerly for the road to get cleared and suddenly Snehith shouted at us," Bro, look thats a finger!". A meat mass was lying on the road just beside Ashish. Ashish had a closer look and confirmed it is no finger, that was ribs. We were all silent for quite some time. All the excitement was gone and we had nothing but prayers on our minds. Anyways, another 15 minutes and the road was cleared. We had wasted a good 30 minutes and it was time for us to make that up.

Once we found the open road, we ripped at around 110+ kmph. The road was completely empty now (advantage of being a biker, you can beat through traffic and reach at the front). Another 50 Kms and another traffic jam! . It was surely not our night to ride. However, things were going on our minds that this should not be another accident. Thankfully, it was not and this was just the jam at toll booth under construction. We lost another 30 odd minutes here. By the time we reached Chitradurga, we were able to see the sky getting brighter and fog all over. Snehith suggested that we stop at one small hillock just beside the highway to take some rest before we continue with our journey.

Some pictures from the hillock.

After having a good rest, we continued our journey. The next destination was set to Hubli, a distance of 200 odd KMs from Chitradurga. The traffic had gone down like anything now and the highway was almost empty. So it was not difficult for us to maintain a ride speed of 100+ kmph. We were forced to stop on the highway after crossing 100 KM line as we got mesmerized by sunflower fields on the side of the highway, somewhere near the city of Ranebennur. Again, a chance for me to click few shots.

The sun was at its peak and i could not resist myself from clicking few pictures on the go, such was the beauty of the highway now, with windmills all along the road.

I honestly wanted to spend some more time there but again, we had a bigger fish to catch. So we continued our leg towards Hubli. By 9:30 AM we were at Hubli and we had our breakfast at Kamat on the highway. We were already receiving some attention from people around us, especially the steeds of Ashish and Snehith (i am sure they must have felt proud from inside when they saw people clicking pictures of their steeds ). After having a heavy breakfast, we continued our way towards Alnavar. We heard that after Alnavar, the stretch was having lot of twists and curves with trees on both sides, more like a forest road. So, people like Advyth were sooper excited when he heard about curves. So, we did not waste much of our time and headed immediately towards Alnavar.

Nothing much to report at this leg because it was a pretty simple state highway with medium traffic, especially of trucks. By the time we reached Alnavar, it was around 10:45 AM.

Next up: Day 1: ooo..Curves..

Bro those LEDs were a true life saver for me especially, the entire stretch at night I had ashish infront of me giving me much required extended vision.

The best was when the stupid truckers weren't willing to lower their lights all we had to do was let ashish take the lead, and not only would the truckers beams dim but they would even go to the left
