Re: 4 Riders, 1300+ KMs, 2 days : A ride to Explore Dudhsagar Waterfalls

    Day 2: The Falls..

I woke up and looked at the watch. It was 09:30 AM! And the best part was i was not having any body pains
(le me was feeling refreshed). Slowly, everyone woke up (in the meantime we received message from Advyth that he already have left from Goa and is on his way towards Bangalore). We got freshened up and by 10:30 AM we were all ready for the day. The plan was simple: Go out, have breakfast, and head out towards the Dudhsagar falls.

We went out and entered the first decent restaurant we saw (Lavi's Restaurant) and ordered for English Breakfast. The quality of the food was really good and it took us good 1 hour to finish it (chattering was on in the middle as always). We slowly headed out of the restaurant and made our way to the falls now. We had already decided in the meantime (over breakfast) that we would not be taking our steeds to the falls, rather we would be taking the jeep there. It actually ended up being the right decision (the pictures would show why). Anyways, there was this thing going around that one jeep was to carry only 6 persons (and we were 3), so we had to wait for another 3 persons to jump in. Luckily, 3 Russians came and showed interest in sharing the jeep with us. So, things got sorted out and we waited for the jeep to arrive for us. The jeep arrived after 30 more minutes and we hopped in. The next few pictures show the route to the falls.

It was a good 15 odd KMs of bumpy ride and it was completely worth it. Ultimately we were able to make it to the waterfalls gate and it was another 1KM of short trek. Few pictures from the trek are as follows.

Again, mesmerized by the natural beauty around us, and spending some quality time at the falls, we headed our way back. Click some few pictures on the way back though.

On the way back to Colva beach, we hit lot of traffic and although i wanted to capture some sunset scenes by the beach, it seemed like that is not going to happen. By the time we reached Colva, it was already dark. We did not waste time but to take some rest and got freshened up. Our plan was to leave at night from Goa and head back to Bangalore, so we finished our check out formalities in the evening itself. A good rest and a good dinner were the two things which we wanted, but sadly, we did not get either. We hunted the place for something new (Goa special, seafood especially) but every restaurant was either over crowded or was not worth dining it. We finally wrapped our dinner at a local restaurant and headed back to resort to get some short much needed nap. We set our alarm for 01:30 AM.

Next Up: Day 3: Home Run..

Woah! that actually awesome . A big thumps up to you guys for doing it on bikes. Our big concern was crossing the river-lets and not the rest of the road because the river was full upto the brim. But yes, in case i end up going again to the falls, i am for sure going to the falls by bike

                  Day 3: Home Run..

We were supposed to take some quick power nap before we start for Bangalore, but alas, we ended up pulling each other's leg and time flew just like anything. The more some one wanted to sleep the more jokes were thrown in the air, and everyone ended up laughing . Anyways, it was already 01:30 AM and since we had already half-packed our bags, it did not take much time for us to get ready.

By 02:00 AM we were out on the silent streets of Goa. Swiftly we made our way towards the border, where we did expect some resistance. However, the resistance occurred long ahead of the border. Two patrol cops stopped us, asked for documents and license and asked Ashish where we are headed to. Coming to know we came from Bangalore, his only question was: "Why dont you guys take the bus or the train? They are very comfortable." Before Snehith could respond to his question, the other cop said: "200 rs per person". We actually did not want to argue or create any problems, hence we handed over the money as fast as we can. Ironically, the cop smiled and said "Have a safe journey, people do come from Bangalore in RD350 as well" and then the question to me: " Why are you wearing leg guards? Do you do rash driving?" I politely answered: "No sir, this is just for protection." He smiled and replied: "Good that you are careful, good luck!". And we were off.

And the border cops did not even ask us to stop while crossing the border. The moment we entered Karwar, we started ripping off, because we were sensing that some time has been wasted already.

We stopped at the next dhaba that we saw after we crossed Ankola, a much needed hot tea break. After the short stop, we continued our leg towards Yellapur. The sky was becoming bright slowly and we were approaching one small ghat section once we crossed Yellapur. I pulled out my camera now and clicked couple of pictures.

Our next target was Hubli and it was time to rip again . Nothing much to describe about the road now. It was really smooth and all three of us did not have any problem ripping off in the road. And hence i really did not feel like taking a break and pull out the camera . Once we reached Hubli, we pulled our bikes to the sides for some pee break. And i took a pic break

It was a boring straight road from there onwards, with less traffic and Mr. Sun showing up with full power. Anyways, we had already decided before that our next stop would be at Chitradurga and hence Ashish and Snehith ripped off, and me riding comparatively slow, enjoying the music in my ears. A bliss i must say . In the next two and a half hours we were at Chitradurga and it did not take much effort for me to find the rest of the guys. We ended up taking a good 10 minutes break with me clicking some pictures of the surroundings.

Surprisingly we were not feeling hungry at all. However, Snehith had some Perk with him (a glucose substitute) and he ended up having all that he had and made our way to Bangalore now.

The moment we neared Tumkur, it started raining heavily. None of us had any rain gear, and we were not in a mood to stop as well. So, nevertheless, we continued our leg back home. By 12:30 PM we were at NICE road, full wet though. Bid goodbye to Snehith once we entered NICE road. It started pouring again but now it hardly mattered . Last set of pics at somewhere in NICE road.

By 01:30 PM both me and Ashish were at home, resting.

This trip sure did put our endurance to test (both physically and mentally) and for sure it had put the level a lot higher. Looking forward to such trips in my near future .

                  Until next time.

                  THE END.

There are some like me who haven't started riding (read touring) and here you are talking of retiring from all this..
You gonna get a beating for saying all this..

                            Ride safe and have fun.

Don't fall for the "End of Era" crap bro. Mr. Suvrajit lives of riding and that's not going to stop anytime soon

His end of era probably just refers to end of his journey with the Avenger
