well.. this ride to meet her not only made the Love stronger.. it also made the bonding between my Black Pearl and my Fiance stronger.. I was quite Amazed ay her statement when she said Our Black Pearl and asked me to never to sell it.. she knows how much this particular bike means to me..

The truth is. I didn't have the time to stop and click pics.. Time constraint.. had to be back in office on the 8th day.. otherwise, my logs usually have loads of pics I didn't have any time to edit the pics as well..

Good, Great ride,Well written.

My thinking goes like this....When planning a long ride, probably we should plan to go through big cities during late nights or early mornings, Best things will be to bypass these cities(Nagpur,Hyd,Bangalore) altogether and stay in reasonable towns(with good accommodation) or near to the exit points from the city to the highways.

As far as Hyderabad goes...you can just bypass the city and not enter it at all. this would have saved you a couple of hours , happy riding

The same thing happened a month back in my life did 330kms to meet her but that's nothing when compared to yours...

But next time have flights as an option for quick visits .
Bike for more relaxed tour .

Ok, So I spent 2 lovely days with my fiance.. Thank God I made it before the weekend.. She has never been on a bike ride. She wanted me to take her on highways.. and that too a fast ride. Initially, I was trying to avoid as I didn't want any horrible incident to happen. However, she said we might not get another chance to go on Black Pearl here on these roads which triggered the tamed beast within me

So we were on the Coimbatore - Salem Highways and as usual, I picked up speed slowly.. first gear at 10 kmph, shifted to 2nd gear at 20 kmph, 3rd at 30 kmph, 4th at 40kmph and rolling on from 40 all the way to 120 kmph on the 5th gear... then she asked, please go a little faster.. she was holding on to me tightly.. I said, i didn't want to take any further risk and I slowed down.. though after some time I hit 125 kmph mark.. She was quite happy and was thrilled as she has never traveled at these speeds.. he dad doesn't drive the car above 40 kmph and her pleasure has never seen speeds above 30 kmph (her dad rides it and she is a pillion)..

On Sunday the 15th June 2014, I was just saying to her I wish it would rain a little on my way so that I don't have to ride under the hot sun.. I didn't want it to rain heavy, however a little drizzle throughout would keep me alive from sun strokes She tried to convince me into travelling by train and loading the bike in the train.. I said no way as they won't handle black pearl properly and I don't want to see BP get damaged and I somehow convinced her..

16th June 2014

on the 16th June 2014, 1st day of her college. I met her outside the gate.. she wanted to go for a short ride before I turned back to New Delhi.. I took her for a short ride and dropped her back at about 8:15 AM.. I could feel the tears in her eyes and as she entered the gate, she turned to say bye and damn, I was busy buckling up my bag to the saddle.. I wasn't even looking ahead and I should have waited till she entered the college gate.. I got a call from her.. I couldn't here anything in the busy early morning traffic.. probably to say bye and go safe.. I had all the gears on and with all the bags tied to the bike. College and school going students were staring at me as if I am an Alien from the outer space. I took a U turn towards Coimbatore - Salem Highways and I just looked into the gate to see if she was waiting for me.. I guess I was wrong.. I just picked up speed and I left my Smile behind with her.. Upset with no other choice but to leave her behind.. I went a little forward and I thought I should give her a call, so I parked the bike to the side and noticed she had called me 2 times already.. I called back, but she didn't respond.. for sure either she is upset or she reached her class.. I just couldn't leave before I listen to her Go Safe, TC and Be Careful.. I patiently waited for about 5 minutes and I didn't get a call, so I concluded she was in class.. I left from Coimbatore exactly at 8:30 AM and I decided not to ride above 90 kmph.. I did the same

Till I reached Salem, i didn't cross 90 kmph.. I noticed the time and it was already 11 AM.. Salem is just 160 kms from Coimbatore.. What The Hell was I thinking.. I have to complete 2400 kms and I am riding at 90 kmph.. I informed office that I will be coming to office from the 18th June afternoon.. I have completed 160 kms out of 2400 kms.. i had a long way back..

I reached Salem, It was time for me to get the Engine Oil changed.. Found an Hero ASC and asked them to get the Oil changed and chains tightened/lubed.. they gave the bike back at 11:30 and I spent 30 minutes there. They applied some spray and cleaned the bike. The bike was shiny shiny well.. That might sound good, but was it? Not really.. The brakes lost their effectiveness.. I had to apply the brakes at-least 10 meters ahead.. I managed to ride for some 20 kms this way on the highways and the crispness started creeping up again.. Ok.. I couldn't ride at 90s any more and I started picking up speed. zig zagging through the cars overtaking them (with blinkers on whenever I turned) I saw a couple riding an unregistered Ray.. they suddenly stopped and that got me to wonder why they suddenly stopped.. I looked ahead and there were cops, stopping the motorists.. I was so damn sure they are gonna stop me because of all the gears and Delhi Registration.. as expected, they stopped me.. well, not in a bad way. They just asked where I am going and how long I have been riding.. and they let me go saying go safe All those gears must have made them understand I am touring and I must be having all the Proper documents..



I reached a point that made me want to hit Chennai and meet my friends on Black Pearl.. but damn, no time.. so I hit straight to Bangalore... but damn, wherever I went, there was no fuel.. though I had enough fuel left in the tank.. the point that was pinching me was the fuel rate difference in Chennai and Bangalore.. Almost 3 rs difference so I wanted to fill the tank before entering bangalore.. There wasn't much traffic this time as it was in the afternoon.. I reached Bangalore by 2:30 PM.. I used my Lumia Maps to escape from Bangalore to Hyderabad.. I didn't have any issues this time as I wasn't confused with which route to take.. so I hit the Bangalore - Hyderabad Highways and this was a very dry highway.. Too boring with nothing to even enjoy.. Plain flat highways with no curves at all.. maybe one or two here and there.. but come on.. it was simply boring..

It was evening somewhere around 3:30 and I was thirsty.. I got myself 2ltrs of water and took a break of 10 minutes.. My Target was to reach Adilabad. However it is impossible for me to reach there in the middle of the night so I decided to reach till Hyderabad and call it for the day.. How much more to travel til Hyderabad?



The thoughts running in my mind about how she will be feeling. I didn't even get to speak with her after 8:15.. wondering if she had her lunch and if she is alright.. these thoughts were killing me inside and i was badly waiting for her to call me back.. I set one ear piece in my ears so that I can stop when I get a call and at the same time hear the traffic without any issues..

she finally called me at 3:45 PM just after I started moving after the short break.. This is when i came to know that she turned back to see if I was looking at her, but I was busy tying the bags to the saddle.. she said she controlled her tears as she didn't want me to feel bad specially when i had to ride back 2400 kms.. I spoke with her for some 5 minutes and she realized I was getting late.. she asked me to call later when I take a break and I agreed..

I will continue with the rest tonight as I have some tasks pending.. Till then

alright.. I still had 490 kms to go and the time being nearly 4.. I can ride for 6 hrs hoping to reach somewhere near Hyderabad if not Hyderabad.. I started riding at 110ish.. The bike felt so good to ride at high speeds till the cross winds hit me.. the bike felt very light and phew.. had i lost control, I would have crashed on the median.. every time I overtake a Truck or a Bus it felt so good as there was no cross winds hitting for a fraction of seconds.. and once i am ahead of the huge vehicles the cross winds hit me badly.. at one point of time, it hit me so hard, I had to apply my entire weight on the tank to bring the bike to control while gradually applying the brakes..

I was a little too tired as I couldn't sleep properly last night thinking about leaving her behind.. the thoughts were haunting me and made me stay up late.. at the same time, I couldn't afford to take rest as I didn't have enough time to reach home.. sharp at 6 PM, my mom calls. i didn't attend the call.. I stopped at 6:05 PM, made a call to mom and spoke with her for few seconds and said I will talk to her tonight.. and I started with the ride again.. I don't recollect the names of the places as most of it was mentioned in Telugu.. at those who think Tamil (translated as Madrasy) is same as Telugu.. then you are wrong

Few more thoughts running in my mind were.. I have to reach my House safely in single piece.. If anything happens, the blame will be put on 2 innocent souls.. My friend cum biker pal in Office and my sweet little Fiance.. I had to keep my friend updated on whereabouts as he was equally worried as my fiance.. we are more like bros than friends..

It was getting dark and the distance to Hyderabad didn't seem to decrease quick enough as the sun though I knew I can make it to Hyderabad by 11 PM or 12 AM, I didn't want to take risk because I wasn't sure about the city and whereabouts places to stay.. Points to be noted.. I didn't have much money in hand so I wasn't worried about Luxury I needed a place where my Black Pearl will be safe.. and the last point was I wanted it to be on the highways..

It was around 8 PM and I was near Shakhapur.. I started inquiring about place to stay.. few asked me to go back few kms and there I can find a couple of rooms to stay in.. but I didnt want to go back as it will be a waste of time and loss in distance.. I still had an hour to travel and hence I asked if there is any towards Hyderabad.. They suggested Jadcerla.. a decent city where we can get decent rooms to stay over the night.. when inquired about the distance, i was told some 40 to 50 odd kms and Hyderabad from where I was standing was some 140 kms.. I decided to move forward as I still had an hour to travel and I could cover that distance instead of staying back here..

I reached Jadcerla fly over and found a board saying family rooms and dormitory available.. so I stopped by and asked about the rooms.. they stated 300 for the night.. i had to pay an advance of 500 and I was fine with it.. It was on the highways and it fit in my budget.. but wait.. I completely forgot about parking.. I asked them and they said you can park the bike outside.. we will be sleeping outside.. i didn't want to take risk, so I asked the owner for a favor and see the below pics









Yes.. I slept with my bike in the room Never knew this would happen in my life this early I asked them if I can Park my bike inside the room and the owner had no objections.. now all the criteria were fulfilled

I wasn't sure why the side walls of the tire kept rubbing the chain guard the guys at the ASC spoiled the perfectly done setup by the local mechanic...

Total Distance covered: 845 kms
Expected Destination: Hyderabad
Actual Destination: Jadcherla (85 kms before Hyderabad)
Total Time traveled: 12 hrs and 30 minutes
