Hey,
First of all, I appreciate your guts. What you did takes a lot of courage and off course you need motivation to do it. I am very happy for you your girl. This ride says it all that she is a special one for whom it was worth all the risk and commitments. Kudos to both of you. And respect for your BP. She has supported your dream all the way.
Even i am one of those guys who read it all at one shot. It was like a movie with fun filled events throughout. Very well narrated too. I am very new to biking and your ride will always be in my memory forever and a motivation for me to do something like that. All the best to you and your love.
Miles to your journey, Adds stories and memories to your life.

It requires craziness and I had all of it
No Money in hand so you can understand the craziness too...
I would suggest not to do a Solo if you are new to the biking world.. learn as much as you can from here and then ride your bike wherever you want.. Get to know people here.. I know people from xbhp would come help me out if I needed their help.. so this is one of the things that made me take all this risk..
Go on the highways with other bikers.. know your bike well.. how she handles, how she responds and most importantly, how well she has been maintained..
I wasn't even prepared for this ride.. i used Hero Engine Oil throughout which by other fellow members isn't good but that is what I used for the long ride.. I didn't get the Air Filter replaced, the spark plugs are 30000 kms old.. blah blah..
And yes.. welcome to xbhp.. where you meet not just bikers, but brothers and friends
Ride safe and fly low

18th June 2014 - The Last Leg.. Well The Final Destination
Be ready for a Picture-less end
so I slept off the previous day with severe cold. sneezing through out.. At first, I thought I should wake up early at 3 AM so that I can reach New Delhi by 12 PM and go to office so that it won't be considered as leave.. but later, I decided to leave a little late as I had enough time to reach home.. I kept Alarm at 4:30 AM and as usual woke up at 4:15 AM.. dropped a message to my fiance and this time I made sure the message was sent.. informed her that I will call her at 6:30 AM..
I got out of bed, got ready after a warm bath.. put on my gears, locked the room and went down to do the check out formalities.. Had to wake up the guys with no other choice.. I checked the time and it was around 5:15 AM.. I asked for the route to highways to Agra. that guy seemed to be falling asleep, he was saying nothing related to what I asked him. I said thank you and left.. I went to a Near by ATM, took out the remaining of the cash I had.. then I checked the maps for directions to hit the highways.. it was a bit confusing so i decided to ask someone on the way.. I checked the map to New Delhi and i was closer to home which got the smiles in me
I had to cover some 650 kms to Indirapuram.. I was so happy that I can make it home in less than 9 hrs.. with the same smile, I moved from the ATM.. the roads seemed pretty good for a small city in the outskirts.. till I reached a point where, well, there were no roads.. I again couldn't go beyond 5 kmph.. and with the rain over night, you can imagine how my situation would be.. I was thinking to myself whether I am going the right way. I stopped a guy going in cycle and asked him for the directions, he said just keep going straight.. and he showed me his hand and exclaimed "do you see the temple there" you have to go til there to get to the highways.. I said Ohhh! Ok.. and to myself, my mind voice was saying "Where the hell is the temple. I don't see any". this road was sooo horrible, it took me almost 30 minutes to cover 10 kms.. and the temple he was talking about was no where visible till I got close to it.. "Did he have an Eagle eye?" or is it just because he knew where it was and he expected the same from me?
As soon I hit the highways, I noticed the fuel showing half tank and the time was 6 AM.. I thought I will stop for fuel somewhere around 6:30 so that I can speak with my fiance after filling up fuel and it would be like taking a break at the same time filling up fuel.. The Temperature was just perfect and this is the kind of climate i was expecting for the entire ride.. the time was 6:30 and I have till now completed 45 km only.. well, 10 kms from Sagar to the highways took me 30 mins..
I filled up the tank, called my fiance and she didn't attend the call.. i waiting for few minutes and I got her call.. spoke with her for 5 minutes and continued my ride to home..
with almost another 600 kms to go, the clock ticking and my mind calculating the time I will reach.. by my calculations, I will reach home by 3 PM.. As the kms to Jhansi decreasing I went into my dream world thinking about how wonderful the ride was.. thinking about how better it would have been if my Black Pearl had few extra horses in her on seeing the wide open roads with no traffic at all... A Dream come true..
Thinking about all this, I just couldn't stop smiling at myself.. Thank God no one could see through Balaclava else I would have been taken to a Mental Hospital
as I approached Jhansi (this time I didn't want to enter into the city) I asked for highways to reach Jhansi - Gwalior highways.. They asked me to take the Shivpuri - Jhansi highways and at the end of the road, take a right.. by now, the time was 9:00 AM and Well, what can I expect.. Sun over my head, taking away all the energy. I can't afford to get dehydration.. I stopped by a road side dhaba.. order some cold water and 2 omelettes.. took some rest there for almost 20 minutes.. poured the cold water on my faced and phew.. that was some relief.. I went ahead to sit on the saddle of my bike and damn, my butt got burnt.. that is how hot it was.. I soaked my Handkerchief with water and let the seat cool down..
I started from there and the crosswinds hitting on my again.. Cross winds were rough and Hot.. blasting from the side.. ZMRs are not good when it comes to crosswinds.. maybe faired bikes aren't good at all.. somehow I managed to reach the Gwalior - Jhansi Expessway.. I was expecting the roads to be free as they were when I came from Gwalior to Jhansi on the 11th of June.. but my calculations were wrong.. heavy traffic.. people walking on the highways.. and of course some constructions going on so slowing down often even if I take my bike upto 70 kmph.. inbetween small towns were a pain.. somehow managed to cross Gwalior without any more struggles.. reached Gwalior at about 10:15 AM
Agra is another 130 kms from here.. I couldn't bear the heat after riding in rain the previous day.. the comfort level the rain put me in melted the next day.. I didn't take break, I at all.. I wanted to reach Agra by 12:30 PM, have something to eat there and continue further.. I had to cross through Rajasthan.. it was very congested.. Too much of traffic.. really hectic to ride through on this sunny day.. I had to make it and I pushed myself very hard.. I managed to make it to Agra by 12 PM.. now the confusion started, whether I should go via Yamuna Expressway or via Mathura and Faridabad..
Looking into my pocket, I decided to go via Mathura and Faridabad for which I suffered taking this decision.. Me sneezing in between every 2 minutes on highways was one of the tortures I was going through..
The Direction board to Delhi was clear.. but the diversions I had to take as the boards went missing inbetween and confusing me.. I stopped by to have some fresh fruit juice and asked for directions.. I was told to go back few kms and take a right and God.. i was so fed up with the traffic.. I filled up fuel again for 500 as I didn't want to stop anywhere else after this..
I was stuck in Agra for almost an hour or more.. I should have taken the route I knew instead of following the stupid direction boards.. I messed up.. so I finally hit the Agra - Mathura Road and still the traffic was on the higher side.. The engine was heating up.. I was getting worried it might burn my legs.. the high temperature adding to the heat from the engine almost roasting my legs... praying for the roads to get free from traffic.. Sometimes, following your instinct is the best decision you can ever make.. and well, this time it went wrong.. my instinct took me in the wrong direction and nearly killed me.. On my way, there were there 2 guys on a White RTR 180.. the pillion looked at me and gave me a thumbs up with a huge smile.. I smiled and shot a thumb up again
alright.. from Agra to Indirapuram, the distance is some 200 kms and I would reach home by 4 PM and as soon as I see open roads, i picked up speed and I was riding at constant speeds of 100 kmph with some slowing down here and there because of traffic.. I stopped under a tree to take some break.. the sun killed me.. i was looking out for Ice Cream outlets and to add to my bad luck, I didn't find any.. when i was on a look out for Ice creams, I found many Lemonade wala.. and when I was on a look out for Lemonade wala, there was not a single guy.. I looked down at my Odo meter reading.. it read 4995 kms since the start of the ride.. another 10 kms and boom, my bike has completed 40,000 kms on the odo.. that is something I was expecting I will finish in another 2 years
I finally completed 40,000 kms.

I had another 150 odd kms to make and After I completed another 30 kms, I found a Lemonade wala, stopped by. I ordered 3 lemonade and I just sat there for 15 good minutes.. and took proper rest.. The heat killed my senses and once I got back into my sense, I moved on.. I reached Delhi by 3:00 PM after a continuous ride.. I called up my friend in office and asked him to come down in another 15 minutes.. I reached Noida Sector 62 at 3:30 PM and had a conversation with my pals and left to home at 4:45 PM.. my house is 4 kms from office..

I called up fiance and let her know I reached safely.. She asked me to take some rest. I said ok and I was chatting with her on Hangouts
I completed a total of 5174 kms in 8 days.. which included 3 days of riding for some 100 kms when i was in Coimbatore.. I was truly amazed at the endurance I had.. and the fact is, ZMR is a great bike with perfect seats.. I didn't have any body pain on my return ride except my right wrist was paining.. it was alright over the night.
Total Expense for this ride including the food expense and getting my fiance few things was ~19000/- out of which fuel expense was around 9000/- it was less than this, but just considering a round up value for fuel.. The bike gave me an avg of 43 kmpl with minimum being 33 kmpl and max being 46 kmpl.. at those high constant speeds with minimum breaks, I feel this is great FE.. The bike still had half tank fuel which I used till my salary got credited the next month..
Total Kms traveled on the 18th June 2014 - 650 kms
Time traveled - from 5:30 Am to 3:30 PM ( I reached Noida at 3:30 itself) which makes it 10hrs.
Total kms rode in this ride - 5174 kms..
Total number of riding days 6 days of course 2.5+2.5 days but can't consider it as a half day, can I?

A wonderful log comes to an end where the lover buoy gets his bum burnt, gets himself and his senses killed by the sun numerous times.
