Road from Pune to Karad is very good by and large except for a few diversions on account of flyover work going on. The best time to ride this section is early morning.
From Karad to Shahuwadi which is a state highway the road is decent all through and past that it is fantastic all the way to the coast NH66.
For more details, refer the last couple of pages on the below post. The video will highlight the road conditions as well

A small section of the road on the ghat past Wai town is patchy to Panchgani. Be careful of on coming traffic as the road is narrow.

Hello friends.
This thread is informative for those who seek the condition of the roads and the current status.
Can anyone from maharastra say about the condition of the road from Vengurla to Ganpatipule via SH-4. I am looking forward to travel in the route for my " Western Ghat" ride next month. This is my second time in maharastra. Last year I just went untill Amboli. This year I am looking forward to cover the half of coastal maharastra. Please help me with the proper route guys. awaiting your suggestions.

Hi, i am sorry. Here is my route plan.

Bangalore-Satara-Kaas-Mahabaleshwar-Pune-Bhandardara-Malshej-Varandha Ghat-Harihareshwar-Anjarle-Dapoli-Velneshwar-Ganapati Pule- Amba Ghat-Gaganbawda-Kohlapur-Bangalore.

For riders heading to Lonavala from Pune. Take the Dehu road bypass via Aundh to rejoin the old Mumbai-Pune highway as the Dehu road stretch coming from Pimpri-Chinchwad is narrow and in bad condition after the rain.

*Kind of an urgent query, hoping to get a quick response*

Scenario: Planning to do a Pune-Hyderabad this Saturday to attend a friend's wedding and because it's a long weekend I got, I've decided to do this on my bike, an R15S.

Question: Now, can someone please clarify on the "current" situation of the NH9(After Solapur)?

Some Details:
I have done multiple rides till Solapur and till there the ride's a bliss on NH65 but I have read a lot of negative feedback for Solapur to HYD by NH9 due to the continuous work in progress, however most of those feedback/reviews are few years to few months old, thus my above question.

I do not really want to take the Kalaburagi(Gulbarg) route, being this my first time on Karnatka side, and I have read that its a single lane state highway mostly with villages all the way to HYD.

PS: I'm planning to leave from Pune before 6AM so it will be a day ride mostly, hoping to read HYD before 5PM or so.

For a smooth ride throughout stick to the main highway which is NH4. Kolhapur - Satara - Pune - Dehu road bypass - Old Mumbai Pune highway - Lonavala - Panvel (go through Panvel town and don't take JNPT bypass) - Vashi, New Bombay. Have a safe ride.

Bumping my own post for some visibility again, sorry mods.
If I get some timely suggestion then okay, otherwise I'll be taking the NH65-NH9 route to HYD.
