Hello guys! It's been a long time since I posted on the forum. By the end of the day I am so tired that, bath and bed are the only things that matter. well thanks to all the members and people who have one way or the other showed interest in my ride. I am as you might have guessed behind schedule because of bad roads, rains etc. I thank Vickks fo meeting me on my entering Guwahati and treating me with ethnic Assmese dinner at Paradise. That night my iPhone conked out as it had got wet and I lost all my contacts. I bought a new phone in Itanagar and am using it. So I could not contact any one and particularly could not properly thank Vickks. Yesterday on my last capital of 7 sisters i.e. Shillong I met Devilboy along with two of his friends who came to the hotel I was staying and spend a couple of hours on a Sunday! Thanks guys! It was a pleasure meeting you. Aargee, of course I shall meet you down south, it would be my privilege. And I profusely thank Theironhorse for updating the forum and keeping in touch with my family. He is a gem of a boy and I miss him on my trip. Right now I am in Assam at a place known as Bongaigaon on my way to Thimpu. Regarding uploading of pictures and updating of particulars of the trip please guys I request you to bear with me as I don't know when I'll be able to do it. I start off at early hours and mostly stop late in the evening, and as I had already said doing any mundane thing at that point becomes very onerous. So once again thanks to the wonderful members of the forum! Wish me luck!

Best way is to finish off the trip peacefully & successfully, then load them & put up a trip log here.

            Pan India Trip

Hello guys! Finished Lucknow today & on my way to Delhi, where I need to get the third service (12,000km) done for the bike. The chain slider came off & shims seem to be acting up. So far in this trip the bike had fallen 7 times, or should i say dropped, mostly while manoeuvring in slush. Lifting it is a real pain & needs a weight lifter's workout! But over all the bike has withstood the battering well. Have crossed 8,000km on the trip so far. Finished crossing fifteen state capitals so far. Luckily after Kathmandu I have not encountered rain so far & I just keep my fingers crossed & hope that this luck continues especially in extreme north!

In west they call their roads free ways & it just means that one can drive/ride freely without any hinderance. We need to re-baptise our highways as cryways! Because on most of them driving/riding is cumbersome if not painful. May be that's where the thrill lies, the unpredictability. On my way out of kathmandu i saw two foreigners riding in with BMW Multistradas. For enthusiastic & adventurous bikers etc it might be thrilling. But for a common citizen it's outright injustice that a simple infrastructure is not being properly provided, that too while spending hoards of resources on it. I think we as a forum need to think about it.

"The university in diversity" Nehruji's much used quote is something to be experienced, which I have been doing for the past 22 days, though at hurried pace, is enriching in many ways. I thank you all for letting me share.

Yes it will; in speeds excess of 140 for prolonged hours of 8+ hours a day, the slider simply cuts off as the chain is not adjusted. But again, if you're doing regular speeds, then 12K is normal wear & tear for the slider considering the fact the chain is not inspected every 1500-2000 Km.

We've all discussed to death The change cannot happen from the bottom of the pyramid if the corruption is at the top!!! As a matter of fact, I hear that the entire NE states have only one, just one highway starting from Siliguri & if that road is blocked, entire NE has nothing to establish road connectivity. And that so called highway is a two laned, potholed...cryway!!!

Never went beyond 110. That too in short spurts and been lubricating the chain every 1500 km

But HMSI says the chain needs to be inspected & adjusted every 1500 Km apart from lubing; I hope this part is overlooked by all of us (including me )

There's just 0.0000000000000000000000001% hope in me that's all. With a population over 1300000000, 30000 is just 0.0023%; it's again not with the numbers, the strength; like you said unity among diversity, I hardly see any unity among us for anything, the diversity just keeps growing & growing, which is the strength of people governing this country

Yesterday got the bike serviced (3rd) at Swarup Honda Padpar Ganj Delhi. Shims, both front blinkers, both brake pads were changed. While the bike was being serviced taking the cue from Aargee (thanks!) visited xBhp office in Chirag Delhi & met all the great guys. Had lunch with them spent more than 4 hours together & boy we talked & talked & talked! Today visited Dehradoon & now am in Chandigarh. Tomorrow will go to Shimla & then onwards extreme north. Hope everything goes well!
