        Cloudburst hits Kargil, many houses and roads destroyed

        The cloudburst took place on Thursday evening that led to over flowing of many streams passing through the district, official sources said. Roads of Kargil town and 434-km strategic Srinagar-Leh highway have been blocked, they said.

          Just a quick query guys, I am leaving for leh on 5th September and I have the option to go there on either my duke or my uncles RE Classic 350.
          Which one would be a better bike for the trip ?
          And also will I face any black ice during this time of the year ?
          When life gives you Yamaha, make it RD350 not R15. :D

            September is considered best month for Ladakh.
            There will be no black ice problem and you will have a clear weather to die for.
            Regarding Duke/RE 350,choose the bike which you are comfortable with and know a bit about repairing minor issue.

                  Go via Srinagar to rule out any AMS related issue.
                  Srinagar route helps one better acclimitazion.
                  Return via Manali.
