    1) How frequent do we need to change the tyres.

I guess mrf came as stock.

Will not answer for the 1st question, tire gurus here please help.
Point 2 and 3. Michelin pilot street comes in 130/70 17 (stock profile) expensive (~4.5k for rear alone in Bangalore) but ultimate quality/value for the buck you spend.
    4. Yes both will be affected.

The weekend is here, so are the wide grins on our faces.

I'm in need of some good advice on a new pair of shoes for my R15 V1.

I called up a lot of places and visited a few here in Bangalore and unfortunately could not find the stock mrf tires.

The minuscule of options that I have are,

        Front :

Michelin pilot sporty 90/90-17 (stock 80/90-17, will this be a problem? )

        Rear :

        Michelin pilot sporty again

        and

        BIRLA ROADMAXX BT R50 120/80-17

I'm sorry about the poor quality pictures, one of which is copied from another post in this thread.

Isn't there a good " have it all" tyre showroom in Bangalore?

I have already tried millivisions near lalbaug, I paid them a visit and they had only michelin to offer. I'm unable to find MRF vyde which is a popular choice.

The best part about my stock tyres which have done 19k kms is that I haven't had a single puncture. I'm changing them because they cracked due to dry rotting. They probably would have lasted a good 2~3k kms otherwise!

Kindly advice me on the showrooms that I can visit (except millivisions, sapthagiri tyres) and the best of the all the rubber available for my R15 V1.

        References will be highly appreciated.

Apart from stock tyre you can go for Michelin pilot sporty and mrf zapper fy1 (r15 v2 front tyre).
I have been using Michelin pilot sporty on my rtr 180 front tyre for 12k kilometres now and looks good for another 4k kilometres. The dry grip is good enough, never locked the front tyre even on hard braking. In rains, the grip is just average, no major problem though. This tyre is good but nothing exceptional about it. Also, this tyre is now being manufactured by tvs for the indian market, so buy this at your own risk :P
The r15v2 front tyre seems to be the best front tyre in its class, going by user reviews. But this tyre is tough to find, if you do find it then just go for it (I couldn't find this tyre in the shops I searched in, So I went for the pilot sporty)

            • Tyres for Pulsar 150

              Hi XBHPians,

I may be beaten to death if this has been discussed thoroughly before. 2 foot long wet patch and "Super grippy" Euroslips(stock tyres 2008 manufactured) were enough to throw me off bike .
I need to change tyres on my Pulsar 150 2008 model. I need good dry grip and wet grip, for use on taramac only. I rarely do offroading. Can i use R15 V1's stock tyres on P150? Are they good for wet surface?

              P150's
              Front tyre is 2.75*17
              Rear Tyre is 100/80*17

Will R15's tyres change ride height? approximate cost and from where to source them?

              Thanks

Guys anyone have any experience about MRF RevZ 150/60 Tyre(rear).
Even my bike needs a tyre change( Honda CBR 250r)...
Checked 2 tyres... Michelin Pilot sporty.. and MRF RevZ....
One concern though...MRF Revz looks good but its 150/60..and the stock tyre is 140/70...i guess the wall is less by 10 mm( not sure if its mm)...
In case if I opt for MRF Revz the front tyre...has a wall of 70 mm and the rear tyre will be 60 mm..will it affect the bike ...
I usually go for sunday early morning rides...mostly for speeding safely and safe cornerings..
                    Would appreciate your feedbacks

I have been using revz 150/60 on my sporty for 7k km now. Although its no match for original mich scorcher on braking and acceleration , but cornering its doing its job quite ok . as superlow already has quite low cornering clearances.
I would highly recommend revz as it does pretty good for the money they are asking (3k)

                        A/B-C

Here A stands for width, B stands for height, B is for percentage ratio to the width and C is the diameter.

In this case height of 140/70-17 is 98.
And in case of 150/60-17 height is 90. This difference should not make much of a difference.

                            Hi Rookster,

I changed my Red Beauty (Pulsar 180 that what I call her) tyre front to MRF 90/90 Front Zapper FS and Back to 120/80 Vyde. Couple of months and they hold really good. Only problem I faced is that these tyres hate mud at any cost...Although I have driven over slippery mud and you really feel scared to keep the bike going. .Apart from that they are good on roads and rainy weather. I has IRC tyres which came with the bike and really miss them due to crapy Indian Govt policies. If you can find go for them.
On Michelin Pilot Sporty are good on dry surface and now they are made by TVS so a bit doubtful as I heard there are fish tailing issues. If you can find them Thailand made you can enjoy them.
On note if budget is not a constrain go for Pirelli /Michelin Pilot Street Radial.

                            HAPPY & SAFE RIDING:thumbup:

the R15s MRF Zapper C is a direct fit to the pulsar front wheel.

i use pirelli sport demon at the rear of my P180UGIII.

                                very satisfied with the grip.
