did a bit of googling and found some rewies saying that green is better than k&n as it has a thicker rubber part which can absorb vibrations better and also more but smaller pores on the surface when compared to k&n so restricting dust better...
all the details abt the green filter r available below...
so confused so as to what filter should be bought...

Pete's Automotive Products Pvt Limited> Main Section > Green Filters > Universal Filters > Green Filter Universal Conical Bike K7.50 50mm I.D, fits unicorn, Karisma, etc

K&N's Universal Air Filters are designed and manufactured for a wide variety of applications including racing vehicles, radio-controlled cars, generators, snowmobiles, tractors, and other applications. Regardless of the angle or offset diameter of the air intake, there is probably a K&N Universal air filter for your equipment. All filters are constructed with ultra-strong molded pliable rubber flanges which absorb vibration and allow for secure attachment and can also be stretched for up to 1/16" (1.5mm) to fit in-between sizes. K&N universal air filters are washable and reusable.

    hi,

I own a honda unicorn (2005), planning to go for a K&N (RC1060) filter. Just replacing the filter will do or do I also have to get the jetting done, can you suggest which number Jets can be deployed.

Take half a bucket of water, mix any detergent sachet, put the k&N filter in it and leave it overnight. Following day, rinse the filter in clear water and expose it under sun to dry. Then buy a 2t oil packet and get hold of a syringe and slowly inject oil all over the filter. It's a tried and tested method and doesn't wrap the filter not one bit

One word of caution : do not overuse the oil.
Thanx for info, lets see if that helps...

No,Removing the cylinder gasket and applying with liquid gasket will increase compression.

Dont know whether it works on all bikes, but it works on Karizma and it will give us 0.8 to 1hp bump in performance.

1 bhp increase by a stupid cone filter? Lol btw i was just talking about the compression part. Does fitting k%n increase compression

Cm on man! I had already told that K&N wont change compression. Changing paper GASKET to liquid will increase compression and there by increase power by 0.8 to 1hp!

                          Ok,I will explain!

A gasket is a seal which fills the space between two or more mating surfaces, generally to prevent leakage from or into the joined objects while under compression. Gaskets allow "less-than-perfect" mating surfaces on machine parts where they can fill irregularities.Like our engine crank case etc.

Have a look here,The black colored thing is the liquid gasket mainly SVC people uses it in the Head of the engine.

Then paper gasket mainly used in crank case, clutch cover comp etc.

i asked what changes need to be done to it
                          ?
See the marked one,its another gasket(metal gasket i think) so removing it will reduce height and will create an increase in power. Guess you understand what a gasket is and what i mentioned here.

                            what is it ?
do we need to apply that grease followed by removing the gasket(metal) as u mentioned ?

now how to change this paper gasket? Where is it located? And one thing i want to ask.....when i fitted my bike with k&n without the hose pipe, the bike was giving okay kind of performance bt when i fitted it with hose pipe, my bike was not even reaching 40 properly.... Does ths mean that fitting a hose pipe increases the amount of air? Thats what i think.... Plz make me understand this theory someone with valid reasons

                                Yes

The distance between the piston top and the head will be reduced by 0.5mm and will results in increased compression ,which gives us the bump in performance.

                                and in ur 1st pic

                                Yes,Its the Liquid gasket.
