    Hi,

If you are travelling by train, travel with the bike. You can make sure its properly packed and loaded in the break van. You could also take a peek at it on major stations. This is what i did when mine traveled with me from Hyderabad to Vizag in 2001. Then from Vizag to Delhi in 2006. However in 2008 it traveled in a truck from Delhi to Bangalore. I guess it would be in a truck again from Bangalore to Delhi in November 2009. Yup, its traveled a lot. If not by train, transport it via a truck. Sending the bike alone in the train, is not recommended(not sure why, others can add on, on that).

When in the new city, you would need to pay the local road tax and keep the receipts with you always. That should be enough. The amount would be based on your bike's model.

    ugrent....transportation of my bike

hi all, i want to bring my tvs apache 150 to bhopal from delhi. which is the best way to do it. i know about the two options which are

    1. booking through railways but i am really concerned about the way they take the bikes. i dont want them to damage my bike in any way.

    2. private transporter.

can you pls tell me how much will i need to spend in both the cases.
i need the bike within one week.
    pls help

i was also thinking of riding from delhi to bhopal. my biggest tour has been around 300 kms one side. so this trip would be a first for me. will it be feasable to ride alone for more than 700kms??

    pls help

    regards
    addy

mods pls move the thread if necessary.

ok blokes, i have already transported myself to Pune and got my bike with me as well I have done this through a company called lakshya cargo. they do it through railway where they have a leased boggie. the boggie is sealed at Delhi station and opened only at Pune jn. the cost was 2900/- INR and an extra 200 bucks to the police guy at the station to let the bike go without hassles. it was transported with fuel in the tank and hence this policeman affair. but i' m not complaining. the bike was delivered in perfect condition. the packing was also good. they unpacked and wiped the bike before giving it to me. pass.

    Shipping the Bike

I need help. I am moving from Hyderabad to Delhi on July 14th and I need help shipping my bikes from AP to Delhi. Can anyone advise me on the methods I can use? Preferably someone from Hyderabad who can provide contact info/addresses, but anyone who knows and talks sense would be appreciated.

I think Gati ships bikes, is that correct?

I thought that we should stick this for easy reference. Quite a few people transport their bikes.
