Woly is a good substitute - use the "Creme Essentialle (Leather Balm), or the " Combi universal cleaner' .

Use the cleaner first, and then treat with Creme Essentialle. This is only for the leather section. Actually, you can wash the entire jacket in warm water with a few drops of dishwasher detergent, and then after drying use only the Creme Essentialle on the leather only.

Wash jacket only when you're sure the garment will dry within 30 hours, else the leather might get moldy.

It's from the knee to the end so can't slash it . will search for more options on the net.
Also if I use vanish won't have to use water to get it off?

For tougher stains, instead of putting cloth in a bucket of water having few drops of the cleaning agent (dilution), one can try putting the cleaning powder/liquid with a few drops of water to make a paste and rub it (check first if it's safe to use with naked hands) directly on the stain. And yeah, after keeping it for a while of course you have to use water to wash it off
The stain was due to the oil being sprayed out of the engine as the oil cap had been stolen.I'll give it for dry cleaning again a few days later maybe then it may go off .
Till then I'll keep searching for other methods or else gotta get it converted to shorts or something

planning to clean my spartan helios jacket after 11k kms.
                1. remove armours.
                2. place the mesh jacket in an automatic washing machine.
                3. hot water wash.

would it do any damage? should i take it out before the spin process starts?

Really dont think the washing mashine idea is good a dip in soap water and a little manual scrubbing should be enough and then rinsing with clean water.

Re: Maintenance of your expensive riding gear

periodically washing the jacket in washing machine MAY result in tearing of the mesh.
hardly takes time to scrub it gently with a soft brush.I wash it manually just takes 15-20 minutes maximum.
And you would not want to waste a huge quantity of water for just washing a jacket in washing machine.

there are stickers given along with the jacket with washing instructions .............. follow them and no hot water

I use the same jacket ( helios ) and i wash it once in a month.

I use Amway liquid solution to wash it and i just rinse my jacket in that solution filled water for about 10minutes till am sure that the dust has been washed off from the jacket then use plain water and rinse it again then dry it in shade.

Using HOT Water will damage your jacket for sure.

Re: Maintenance of your expensive riding gear

                            Came here looking for help.

I have a Joe Rocket riding pant and a riding jacket. Wasn't actively riding much, hence they were stored.

The jacket's protective parts degenerated a bit and loose particles spoil the T-Shirt and my body part once worn. It is sticky/gooey.

Will hanging it out in sun help?

Mine is a Joe Rocket touring jacket.

Rahul, mine is the Ballistic 8.0 model from Joe Rocket. The back protector is absolutely ok but the arm protectors seem to have gone off. Will have to buy arm protectors. Am attaching a picture of it. In the picture, I have taken the protective material out and it appears to have degenerated completely :-(
