Which brand they are using? and is it really synthetic (considering the low price)?

    • @kalsi it is rumored to be from HP and semi-synthetic..but no confirmation from bajaj as of yet. I called the customer care. The guy there said that regarding the type (whether FS, SS or just mineral)) we have to mail them and ask.

Regarding make of the oil he said that Bajaj is manufacturing the oil. Then he also said that Bajaj is not releasing the information regarding who is manufacturing the oil. So in end no conclusions.

      • I am planing to use Motul this time in my engine.Havent used it earlier so barely have an idea. I have been using the Yamahalube SS all these while. Now since free servicing is over , I would like to switch to petronas or motul. Any advices? Where can I get them? Does Motul have a semi synthetic or fully synthetic? If we one switch from semi to full ..do I always need to go for FS then?

        • I have been using SS all these times. But just was inquisitive to know how would switching to FS increase engine performance. Somebody said methat once you switch to FS you cannot revert to SS and vice versa.

"fair deal" ? it would be a steal dude..... if the oil is a genuine one. Please check the manufacturing date before purchase.

as i have told in my earlier post the seller is a person whom i know personally. So i dont think he would cheat me by selling old oil. Actually i came to know about his price after i had used the oil from the SC & found that i had a loss of 170

                    • To all my friends who replied to my post on using Castrol CRB for RX - Thanks.
Now, this is what I'd in mind; a Diesel engine is prone to more heat due to the high temperature & pressure it generates & the Diesel engine oil is subject to more viscous with added ingredients to absorb those heat to cool down the engine.

With Petrol engines, naturally it doesn't need to be so viscous & using the Diesel engine oil, shouldn't it keep the engine cool better?

I'm still willing to change my engine oil (I know its only a week over) provided I get one for 2 stroke engine oil. What is recommended?

PS - I used Castrol without finding any luck to find another engine grade oil. We made a good ride for 300+ Kms & couldn't notice any difference & the last 100+ Kms ride was a gruelling one with nearly 3 digit speeds.

                      • I mailed this to Bajaj today in morning-
                        To whomsoever it may concern,

I want to confirm from a duly constituted authority at Bajaj Auto following things regarding Bajaj DTS-i 10000 engine oil-
                        1. What is the type of the oil? (whether fully synthetic or semi-synthetic or mineral)
                        2. The oil is being manufactured for Bajaj by which company?
                        3. What is the grade/ratings of the oil?

I look forward for a reply within a resonable time.
                        Thank you
                        Their reply was this-

                        Dear Sir

Thank you for your interest in Bajaj Brand, We would request you to visit the nearest Authorised Bajaj dealer for the detail information.

                        With Warm Regards

                        Customer Care Cell
                        ...and I was like..wahhh

Anyways I submitted my query on Bajaj website. In evening I got the callback from Pune. The person was more than willing to address my queries. He replied thus-

                        1. What is the type of the oil? (whether fully synthetic or semi-synthetic or mineral)
It is not mineral or FS as has been rumored. It is a semi-synthetic oil.
                        2. The oil is being manufactured for Bajaj by which company?
This oil is currently being manufactured by Bajaj in collaboration with Hindustan Petroleum.
                        3. What is the grade/ratings of the oil?
It is 20W50 JASO MA grade

Oh!!! Yes, in addition, I came across this...
                          Shell Helix HX3 - India

Check out the site that says...

                          Shell Helix HX3 Suitability
                          • Petrol engines fitted with conventional carburettors
                          • Naturally aspirated or turbo charged injection diesel engines
                          @SafeBiker
Every lubricant has some viscosity grade starting with API. If it starts with "S" then its a petrol engine oil anf if starts with "C" THEN ITS DIESEL ENGINE OIL. For example an engine oil has API-SG/SJ/SL/SM ETC... THEN IT IS PETROL ENGINE OIL. API CC/CD/CF/CF4/CH4/CJ4/CI4 ETC... ALL ARE DIESEL ENGINE OIL
If you look at Shell Helix HX3, it clearly says
                          Viscosity ----- 20W-50
                          API ----------- SG/CD
I know I'm comparing 2 different products (Shell & Castrol) but the base point remains the same as Diesel engine oil used on Petrol engines. What do you think? Should I switch from Castrol CRB to Shell Helix HX3?

Is that good or bad? My Twister owner's manual says that the recommended oil is 20W40 but during the service, the oil was changed to 10W30. Is that alright?

No that's not alright you should go for recommended oil 20w40 not 10w30 its a thin oil and will not stick to the wall of engine..
