guys a general question does change the engine oil to fully snythetic increase the top speed of my bike..

also is that true that once in a while you may put the 2t oil along with petrol in order to clean the carbon inside the engine.. if no is that harmfull..Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead..

Please suggest engine oil for pulsar 150cc
Hi Friends,
i am having pulsar 150cc i have crossed more than 70,000kms.I have changed the head and the piston recently .Now i am having a mineral oil.
I want to switch to an engine oil for long run as mineral oil lasts only for 2k to 2.5 k kms .
so please suggest me a good engine oil for my bike.

Do you want a oil that lasts longer or do you want a oil that makes your engine last longer
As you changed the head and piston recently please stick to mineral oil, 2 or 3 k is the best maximum period for your bike to go with one oil so suggesting you to stick to mineral and do try motul mineral or gulf if you need smoothness but change oil either at 2 or 3 k or if the oil needs to be changed

On an average per day i go around 50 to 60 and weekends more than that .So if go i still use mineral oil then it wont last more than 20 to 25 days .So i am asking you for suggestion.Originally posted by MSN1 View PostSandeep

I want an engine oil that makes the engine run smooth and also last long also if you can then please specify the price and the kms it goes on.

bro, keep an eye on engine oil level, check oil level every 3-4 days and do servicing with oil change every 1.5 months (45 days)...
that will keep your bike and eventually you ..........happy.
55 kms per day = 55 x 45=2475 kms in 45 days or
3300 kms in 60 days....
so your idle oil change interval is between 45 to 60 days.
you should do oil change between 2000 to 3000 kms ideally, a few 100 kms here and there should be ok, but don't stretch it too far.

guys i am dam confused please help and guide me. I have been putting 1lt & 200ml in my bike as mentioned in the manual from day one. Well some one today told me no dude u should put only 1 lt in your bike. Well we put 1 lt & 200ml when we get are carbarator or any work in the engine then we put this otherwise go with only 1 lt.
please guide me on the above matter and also one more question since i am putting volvoline, on the box no where it is written 20w50 only volvoline 4t premeium synthatic oil should i consider it as 20w50. since i checked the website it is mentioning that it is a 20w50 grade oil
do suggest me anyother 20w50 oil or even i can put 15w50 oil on my pulsar 180 ug4 well if so then 15w50 should be replaced after how many km. please guys through some light on the above matter i shall be waiting for a positive replies from my brother aka experts on this field.

you can use 15w50 in place of 20w50. no problem with that.
regarding oil change interval read my post just above yours, it applies to P180 also.
regarding quantity---i think it should be 1000 ml only, read your manual and follow. i have a p150. i think it should be same i.e. 1ltr. but read and follow your manual.
normally we put more oil when engine is opened because oil left in cylinder head is drained. otherwise no need.

Well thanks and i shall not use bold letters. Alright as u r riding 150 well 1 lt is for your bike and for 180 ug4 it is 1.2 lt.
now let me go to the market and see what do they have to offer me. for this and above all let me do some research on this and then get back to u all for allahabadclick me

Here is a link to Motul oil which is a good oil to be considered. Hi guys well I am started putting this on my bike from now onwards. Well when I went to get it changed at the time when the mechanic took out the oil well i saw it was jet black in color and i was remembering it when I got it changed well i had only done 200 km on it.
To my surprice the volvoline engine oil which the company is giving for our pulsar 180 ug4 it is not a 20w50 grade it is 20w40 for sure.
well earlier when I was putting it my bike was getting heated alot and now after changing it, the bike is in a relax condition.
