At 750 bucks it ain't cheap, but if you'd want to go for it, I'd say go for it, but don't settle for anything less and go for it from a reputed reseller.

And Motul is allergic to Pulsars not ZMAs (According to the forums). Just want to confirm the word if its true or not?
Dunno about the allergy part, but as far as I've seen with my friends who ride pulsars, especially p220, and even majority of the members on this forum and pan xBhp, if we happen to take a poll anytime, Motul will win hands down. P220 riders swear on this oil. Specially 5100/15W50 SS and 7100/20W50 FS. Ask anyone....

I went to buy oil from a Motul reseller nearby my place and I saw brand new Motul posters with new labels on bottles like this 300v and the poster says " motuls new range" is it just new labels or the oil formula itself is new?

If you compare this new packaging can with the packaging can of 300V, the old one, you will see a vast difference, earlier it used to read, "Double Ester Technology" which in this case is replaced by "Ester Core", which most likely indicates a change in formula, or a variation in the old process. Checked with their official site, its not updated there yet...

In some cases its a new formula and in some they have improved the current process. New packaging confirmed... Check the link for confirming it.

Anyone??? Castrol Power 1 Racing 10W50 with Pulsar 220 DTSi???
Well, I had used CP1R on my P220 DTSi. Filled it in on the morning of August 11th 2012 alongwith a brand new clutch. On the evening of August 13th 2012, I had a burnt clutch and ruined engine oil within 900km usage. So, choose yourself between this or *maybe* 5-6ml of leaking 300v in 20-30k km of usage or maybe you can opt for Motul 7100 20w50 and avoid all this drama for a lower price than 300v.

Edit: Did I mention that I was 3km after crossing the top of Rohtang when the clutch burnt *after sunset* leaving me stranded in the middle of nowhere at roughy 13000ft above mean sea level?

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Antz!!! So here you are, was expecting your inputs, as yours are the best in terms of AFR thingy relating to P220. Are you sure that the CPR1R you got was genuine??? Coz the same oil is being used by the motorrad's top bikes!!!

Also, can you please post the link to your old signatures for AFR and several other things???

The point is not what I got was genuine or not, because I am pretty sure what I got was genuine because I had carried the stuff with me on the trip from my home city and had specifically told my trusted dealer not to dupe me or it would be a matter of life and death.I did not buy it en route. The point is, whether you are willing to risk your life over it?

Anyways, the stuff from my old signatures can be found in the blogs under my display pic.

The changes are improved wet clutch performance in 300v so I guess no clutch slippage issues ,in 7100 they've added new viscosity ranges like 10w50, 5w40 and 15w50 and in 5100 they have 4 viscosity ranges 10w30,10w40,10w50,and 15w50. I think there's no change in the regular 3000 mineral oil.

Franky and as I guessed it right, Ester Core is nothing but a fancy term for Ester usage. Like how one can use the word sodium instead of salt but those who are unaware will be going for the same stuff, albeit it routed a bit differently.

The sticker change is a welcome one, as the old ones were lackluster. And apart from the ranges you've mentioned most of which were previously there. Here is what Motul states it in their website.

Perhaps most ester used oils are not so costly because they are ester fortified, not 100% ester based, so to avoid confusion Motul have used ESTER CORE which implicitly states that their oil is 100% ester not fortified as other oils which justify the price.

Over several decades, MOTUL has consistently improved the performance of its motorcycle lubricants through development of its own unique type of ESTER, with the latest result being the introduction of technology. This technology combines carefully chosen esters with an optimal selection of top quality synthetic base oils coupled with an innovative additives package. MOTUL technology guarantees:
                            Power
                            Reliability
                            Protection
                            Minimal oil consumption

Same point circumvented at a different level. But Motul will always be Motul.

                            Cheers!
