Re: Engine Oils
Exact chemical formulation is held secret by every company what is the exact proportion is not disclosed, oil can be blend of ester/pao/gp3/an in any proportion and still be called ful synthetic, most of the oil which are fs 100% synthetic, ester, ester synthetic, are also cunningly marked PAO/Ester based formulation, and might be only having 20 to 30% ester, and rest other chemicals.Originally posted by SparKot View Post

Re: Engine Oils
The rest of the FS oil actually contains liquid hydrocarbons which are manufactured from methane, carbon monoxide and corbon dioxide by using a series of chemical reactions termed as Fischer-tropsch process.Originally posted by SparKot View Postwhat does rest 60-70% of engine-oil constitute of? Dino Oil?

Re: Engine Oils
To what i know Fischer-tropsch process is a form of chemical reaction which converts mixture of carbon monoxide and hydrogen to liquid hydrocarbons, this reaction gets its name by two inventor of germany who first experimented this process in 1920, i think, it's a process of gas to liquids techology produces synthetic lubrication oil and synthetic fuel

Motul 5100 4t is semi synthetic oil with viscosity grade of 15w 50, as this oil is ss it's cheper than 7100 4t 20w 50 oil, i think go for motul 5100 oil as it is cheaper and far better than mineral oil plus Fs oil tends to evaporate in intense heat and you have to top it up after every 2000km or so, but if you can do that then it's a hell of an oil engine will run smoother and quieter, although all of these benefits defer from engine to engine.

Did you top-up the oil anytime in this 16000 kms interval?

. you are very right. The synthesis of synthetic lubrication oil and synthetic fuel was first experimented in Germany during the world war era way back in the 1920s.

Re: Engine Oils
go for Motul 7100 10W40. For a 125 cc bike, 10w30 oil might not provide protection if u think of doing some spirited driving.Originally posted by CHINMAY_PATHARE View PostSo which should i use for my ignitor 125cc

Re: Engine Oils
Hello guys, has anyone used castrol edge 5w40 full synthetic oil? I have been using this since a long time in my car, bike and my access as well. This is by far the best oil that i've come across and can hold good for a good 5k kms (for motorcycles)under normal riding. Just sharing my thought..
Cheers!!

Re: Engine Oils
I have a new bottle of motul 3100 gold 20w50 with me, new almost used it for a top up few months ago on bros bike. Now, that oil is really gritty to feel, when you rub it between your fingers it feels oily but like fine grit oily.... any reason? Oilbwas kept bottled up and I have noticed unused motul oils turn a little gritty. No particles there but it feels like there is.

Re: Engine Oils
Dont worry bhai use it and it will be smooth its a great oil but once the bottle is opened and kept unused for say 2 months it becomes weird.Originally posted by kusmaker View PostMan i have today purchased same oil for myself.

.
Does it deteriorate when left unused ? I think so, but being a semi synthetic it shouldn't,
Ester contqining oils are sensitive to deterioration with air I herd, now someone needs to confirm,
Also does thi mean motuk 3100 and 3000 contain esters
