Oh. Well, the Domi is my 1st big bike and hence learning the maintenance pieces slowly. Bajaj claims their oil to last 10k Kms, but most of the riders in the DOCB group have recommended a change at 5k Kmsand hence following that. Let me push it to bit earlier going forward going forward then.

Well, Bajaj does claims rather boldly even on the engine oil bottle. But it's weird, to say the least. Rest, if the Domi Gurus feel 5k is the ideal, OK. You could also see how well the oil behaves and till what KM range.

The oil sold by Bajaj Under the 10000 was literally snakeoil that had a best life of 2k max which was manufactured by HP.

Vijay, does anyone you know uses a xW-40 in their KTM Duke 200 or Bajaj 200 NS/RS/AS? I vaguely remember reading in a KTM manual that 10W-40 can be used if the average ambient temperature outside is 40 or less. Am asking this because these engines have better tolerances (?) than the classics from BAL and the primary burden of keeping the engine cool is with the coolant and not the oil.

Guys I own an Apache160 4v, everything is fine with him..but I feel the FS oil by TVS TRU 4 (BPCL) isn't good or lasts longer. After a trip of 500 kms(up& Down) , there's a significant drop in oil level !!!

WTH is this !
And one can see comparatively the difference between motul and other branded oils.

So shall I go with Motul from next service ? I should do the 3rd service probably next Month .

You can try honda throttle 10w 30 synthetic oil, i too had bad experience with tvs tru4 synthetic oil,or you can go for motul 5100 10w 30 which is semi synthetic bdw.

You can change grades without a trouble, irrespective of SS of FS to Mineral, the engine won't complain. The engine would complain only when the oil is excessively dragged beyond its usage life and that's when trouble starts. Use any oil, as long as it is the right grade, your bike won't complain. The key is the interval you change.

FS do have a nature to vanish without a trace. Stick with semi-synthetic, they are cheaper and have almost as same a life as the FS.

Are you referring to the same incident you mentioned in the 160 4v thread or a different incident?

Did you check the oil level before the trip?

I've checked personally that the oil level is at the bottom of the dipstick, even after filling 1200ml oil. If you're too paranoid, drain the oil and check the quantity. If it is ≥1100ml, you're good to go. If not, add oil to make it 1150ml, fill it and see if the oil disappears again.

The sump of 200/160 4v takes approx 1300 ml of oil with filter change and approx 1200 ml w/o filter change. The value mentioned on the clutch cover for Suzuki and TVS vehicles is the oil level w/o filter change. 1300 ml was mentioned in the training video a company made for TVS (Export Markets).

Bro just stick with the well known and recommended brands. All these unknown brands sell mineral oil and Mark it as super synthetic or what not. And since you have a decent bike, I'd request you not to fall into the trap by using these kinds of garbage oil.

Don't worry bro, I've NO intention to try this product. It's just that I was looking for something on PayTM and this item popped up. I got curious as the specs seemed decent so I thought why not ask here.

Engine oil is very crucial as it helps in maintaining Bike performance. They are mainly categorized in three types 1-Mineral oil 2-Semi-Synthetic 3-Full Synthetic.
Following are the list of top brands engine oil a-Motul oil b-Veedol oil c-Castrol India d-Valvoline oil e-Divyol by Gandhar oil f-GS Caltex India. This are best to go with without any second thought and will keep your engine at its best...

The question is why

All the XXw50 oils have similar viscosity specs. It is okay if you drain one grade of engine oil and fill a different grade or use a different grade oil to topup.
