    • No yaar. Motul causes enough leaky heads. search the forum man.

Go for 5100 if you must be a motul fan.

We here just love prescribing motul 300v as if its the best thing since sliced bread. def not for pulsars.

A leaky head cannot be fully attributed to 300V.

Then why is that only Pulsars and Apaches leak with 300v?
When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

I discussed this here long back. It is to do with the material used for the packing. In the 70's and 80's when the synthetic oils became popular in the US & Europe they too faced the same problem. Then the packing technology underwent changes and people started using the synthetic oils merrily.

Relating to that, may be we can guess that what ever bike's are leaking oil with 300v are using the packing made with material that can be eaten away by the esters as part of their cleaning process. But then, are the new Pulsar's too prone to this? I heard many times here that once the leaked packing is changed the leakage stops. Am I right?

it actually depends on you. You could try out semi synth 5100T first, then move over to 300V.

Actually, there is no certain set of rules. You could try the fully synth right from now. But this option you have been tried more successfully by owners.

Changing engine oil also depends on your riding style. If you rip alot, I suggest changing every 2000-2500 kms, but if you ride at an average pace, then it should last you 5000 kms.

Great. Do report if you notice any difference while changing gears.
