My ZMA has also done a little more than 6k. Very limited choice for w30. So have settled for w40. Had to settle for "Castrol Power 1 Racing" as "Motul 300v" was not availabe in w40.

Currently using Castrol Activ just for the heck of trying something different besides HH oil and its still running strong . Already bought "Power 1 Racing" a month ago and Itching to try it.

The fully synthetic oil was launched recently i.e 2-3 months back..i reckon it was power 1 racing only..

Btw, how is it..since you didnt mention abt that..!! 10w40 would work fine for the ZiMA..

              • Just wanted to make a small update
I am using Motul 5100 Semi synth for 3 weeks now. I'm liking it.
There has been no Gasket leak till now ( P180-UG-3). One question.
whats the difference between the single ester on 5100 semi synth and the double ester on 300V fully synth.
Are there more chances that I will have a GAsket leak if i use the one with Double ester?

I'm using it for the past 3 weeks now. Pretty good oil.
I made a fool of myself by using Castrol Power 1 Racing for my P180. was using the wrong grade for like 8k kms.
5100 is nice I would say. Maybe from the first few days i found it rough because I shifted from fully synth to Semi synth.
Frequency of oil change.. well ahmm. I am keeping my fingers crossed. Wish it lasts ~ 3000km.

I have been using 300v in my 220 right from my run in times, and never had any problems !! Engine runs smooth, accelerates like a mad bike

                    So @Krishna,
U havent had a Gasket leak till now?? maybe ur the Lucky ONE.
I dint put the 300V for fear of Gasket leak.
                    Gimme some inputs pls.

Sir this oil was used in old days for yezdi's as a premix if i am not wrong , if its the same then its not available anymore, yezdi owners nowadays use 20w50 engine oil as a premix, and i apollagize for not coming down to see your beauties will make it sooner.

A quick search on the internet gave me a lot of results. One such result gave the following info:-
"MAHATHOL SAE 20/30/40/50 MONO GRADE ENGINE OIL
MAHATHOL SAE 20/30/40/50 Engine Oils are superior, heavy duty, high performance crank case oils for both Petrol / Diesel Engines. These are high viscosity index oils fortified with package additives, containing detergent, dispercent, anti-wear, anti-oxidant and anti-foam additives. Hence these oils give excellent wear protection and prevents bore polish, reduces combustion chamber deposits and oil thickening tendency to increase the oil drain intervals and thereby increases the engine life. MAHATHOL SAE 20 / 30/ 40/ 50 are SAE Grade Engine Oils are available to meet the specific requirements. "
Which means that these Oils are still around. Now I have to find a dealer in Bangalore.

In the 60's there were no multigrade oils available. So engine Oil was mixed with the petrol. Don't remember which Oil it was. My understanding is that the Oil mixed with petrol is light oil similar to 2T oil ( like sae-20 ). I understand that even now in Kerala lots of mechanics suggest mixing engine oil with petrol ( 1 litre to a full tank ) for overhauled petrol engines during the running in period, and mix petrol ( 1 Ltr. petrol to a full tank of Diesel ) for running in Diesel engines.

You are welcome. Just let me know in advance when you are coming.
