After 2K KMs with that oil keep checking the level & colour frequently. Say every 500 KMs. If level goes down, top it up (by 50 ml, check and add one more 50 ml if needed. basically don't just pour in all of it). It should last at least 6K KMs.

I suggest you wait till atleast 2-3K kms.on the odo. What is the recommended engine oil grade for your bike? Yamaha has a semi-synth engine oil 15w50 which is being used for the R15. If the FZ can take it, that would be the best one so as to not cause any warranty related issues.

Then is there any other fully synthetic oil which can come close to Motul 300V in terms of quality? Changing oil at every 1 or 1.5k may become very expensive for me . I thought Yamalube would work for me but its not available here.
Why do you change fully synthetic oil every 1-1.5K kms.?
