I have recently changed my oil to Castrol 20w40 as per my mech and now my engine has become rough.

Are my perceptions correct?

The recommended grade by Honda is 20W50

Nope. 20W40 is the recommended grade for 1st Gen Unicorns.

Guys petronas sprinta 2000 20w40 is totally crap. I have a Yamaha RX100 and the oil turned black after only one week of service I guess I covered somewhere around 80 kimis. The gear shifts became very hard and during cold starts the gearbox used to go like tick tick tick. This morning I drained the stupid petronas oil and poured in Castrol GTX 20w50 and all the problems are gone (as expected) my 2 cents stay away from petronas.

Exactly this is wat m toking about.Petronas is crap.Even with the Sprinta 5000T i thot atleast it wud run around 3-4k but it started showing its true colors after 2k only had to drain it at 2730kms.Its not a fully synthetic oil.

My immediate notice after pouring Shell advance ultra FS.Bike response has totally changed including the way it fires.Very smooth gear shifts,soft n smooth firing.Above all theres no knocking now.With petronas i was experiencing lot of knocking to which i thot ive to change d way i ride.But shell prooved me wrong!! HURRAY!!!!

You are right. I think it was 15W40 that I have been using. However, I am finding it very difficult to get that oil anywhere anymore. No one seems to be stocking it.

I am wondering if the AGIP 4T is as good since I need to replace the oil and I am planning to move to synth oil anyway. The Motul used to last me about 2500 kms before requiring a change. How long does the Agip 4T normally last for?

AGIP racing 4t is a very good oil at its price point. It normally lasts for 4k kms.

I was able to get a couple of bottles of Motul oil of 900 ml. And they are 20W40 grade. Getting hold of Agip 4T oil was proving even more difficult.

I have an Activa as well, so these 2 bottles should suffice for now. I need a regular guy for this, or pick up more bottles in advance.

Difficulty in getting the agip oil & that too in bangalore. In which part of bangalore do you reside man. I NEVER faced any hardtime finding the agip oil.

TVS True4 is crap.Better shift to the following :

Shell advance ultra FS 10w40 Rs720/-
Motul 300v FL 5w40 FS more than 800/-
Agip Racing 5w40

Check the availability of these products in ur area.

Motul 300v FL 5w40 FS more than 800/- (dealer in sakinaka itself. Arihant industrial estate,gala no.34)
Agip Racing FS 5w40 Rs640/- (searched a lot cudnt get 1.dealer in pune dusnt ship 2 mumbai)

These oils are the best fully synthetic oils around.Next is ur choice!

I stay near KR Puram. I have tried many auto shops in and around, but wasn't able to source either Motul nor Agip until this afternoon when I picked up 2 bottles of Motul. The dealer said he can get me a few more bottles on order so I will stock up a few bottles in advance itself.

Petronas Sprinta 2000T Rs 250/-

from the above i found castrol to be good cuz my bike never heated or stalled on idling as it did on petronas sprinta 5000T FS.Never used sprinta 2000T.U can browse back n check reviews for sprinta 2000T.But its CRAP!! I had to leave castrol cuz loads of duplicate stuff running in d market n der was no way to check the genuinity of the can u buy like TVS True4 has.

I have used the sprinta 5000T fully synthetic oil on my bike which is also a CBZ Classic & it performed brilliantly without any issues, & with this I had done non stop 270kms & I felt engine never felt stressed.

I used sprinta for almost 5k kms & it was looking good for another 500 or 1000Kms, I wonder how it could work pretty opposite in your CBZ

I don't know much about Sprinta Mineral oil, but best mineral/ SS oils I have found till now is,

Elf moto 4 gold - Mineral oil
Shell Advance - Semi syntheitc - 270Rs which was running on my CBZ for last 2.5k kms & M pretty happy with it

Gulf pride - Heard a lot about it, but never used it myself
Veedol Super Swift - Again a semi syntheitc costs 280rs something, but never used it myself
