  • Sava, Using this oil since quite sometime now and I must say it the best oil for any bike which requires W40 oil and at 300 bucks or so.. its just sooo cheap :P

From which dealer did you buy the oil, I am in no mood to ride in the crowded areas of Kashmere gate to pick up a can of oil, is it from Karol bagh or West Delhi..kindly provide the address as well.

    • Guys, I just noticed that the engine oil I bough was manufactured about a year and a half back, but was in a sealed bottle. I didn't notice any expiry date, either. So, any idea about the shelf life of an engine oil?

To your disappointment, I bought the oil from Kashmere Gate
However, I can pick up a can or two for you, if you want me to : Kashmere Gate falls in the way of my daily commute, and isn't crowded on weekday afternoons. I can hand it over to you on a G2G.

Nothing to worry there. Even mineral oils have a 3 year shelf life in a sealed can.

The dealer(sardar ji) there has the stock of Dec, 2007 oil which he is still selling. I have been using the oil from same batch, so nothing to worry. But its strange why doesnt such cheap synthetic oil sell. Seems because of poor marketing and dealer location. L.P. told me about the dealer in karol bagh but sadly he only provides directions to the place which isnt exactly very great way to look for a shop in crowded karol Bagh. Have to take him personally to fetch the oil can.

Well Kashmere Gate used to be on my way to daily commute, now that I have switched to Delhi Metro I cant buy and carry the can in Delhi Metro. Sadly I havent attended any G2G's since quite sometime. Thanks so much for your offer, I will bug lappu to take me the Karol Bagh address or else we can meet a convenient location and will pick the can from you. Thanks again

Any Fully Synthetic oil available in 20w40 grade?

              help appreciated

I m running the same oil in my 2001 Classic CBZ right now.. & it has been little more than 1.5k kms & this oil is very good for its price.

Only one disadvantage I found is that engine heats up like crazy.. dont know why

In my opinion Using W50 grade for CBZ will help a lot if u love to Cruise in 75-80 for a long time but you will lose out on revving nature.

I found out that with W50 Motul 300V my bike revving was not as free as it used to be with W40 grade.

All in all.. If u Intend to do long distance with Minimum breaks.. then 300V 15w50 Grade is a fantastic oil for any bike..

Go ahead & use it. It is much better than Mineral oils & I m sure it is best VFM oil available in synthetic range..

I did non stop 260kms to check this oil's capability although it did sustain, but it was no where close to Motul 300v.

All in all a good oil

u can only go for higher than recommended grade when u r operating at higher temperatures (read as summer) and mainly u r ripping like hell
so first is not because its winter now and second remains to u

available semi synthetic oils for w40 are
                      valvoline
veedol super swift (iam not completely sure its semi synthetic)
these are best semi synthetic oils available for p150

I have been using castrol power1 15w40 for more than 18months/10000 kms,
                        and experience has been satisfying.

If that was satisfying then most other oils would be exceeding expectations. How about a much cheaper Gulf Pride 4T plus 20W40... try it once.

Leave the Valvoline, there is no xW40 semi synth. Veedol is tough to find in Hyd. Try the Gulf or get the Sprinta 5000 (I've got some stock).
