Yes I will be using the right grade oil and also I will be using mineral oil only.....until about 5K kms.....

As I see you are from Bangalore...can you please guide me where I can get MOTUL or GULF Mineral Oils....???

Bought 2 cans of Veedol Super Swift 10W40 yesterday from Aroor Udyog near Urvashi theatre. MRP was Rs.290. He quoted 270 and I got a Rs.20 discount under the bottle cap, so paid Rs.500 for two bottles. The shop is open between 7.30am and 1.00pm.

Hi friends, today I am really upset because I have found noise is coming out of my new HH Hunk engine. At 1700km I changed my oil to Castrol power 1 30W40 which I purchased from a local dealer(must be genuine). Now its showing 2145km. Today I take my bike at 100kmph for around 7-8 km, the acceleration was very smooth. But while coming back to my office, I noticed the sound "zic.....zic....zic...." coming out of the engine. Is this because of the engine oil or my riding above 100kmph? Friends, please suggest. I am really very upset today. Now what to do??

u can use motul 5100. castrol power1 is not for rash driving.

hi guys..i hav p180 n pickup has gone lower..earliar it was vry good..but nw it dosnt rev up easily...wat shud b d prob?? last time i used castrol engine oil having density 20 w 40..is it bcoz of this oil???coz i was recomeended 20 w 50 for my p 180..but i cudnt found it in our area...so plz tel me wat shud i do??

u cann use motul 5100. it is very good oil for p180

Hello everybody...

I have recently bought a RTR 180 and the engine oil used for that is TVS TRU4 mineral oil 20W40.

But I feel that the oil is not so good. So can I use any other mineral oil?? Please recommend me the best mieral oil in 20W40 category...for RTR 180

Or can I go for a semi-synth oil when the bike is new?? Will it cause any harm..?? Or should I wait till some kms are done???

I do not want to go for a fully synth oil at present....

Please advise me on this. also please recommend which will be the best semi-synth oil for the RTR 180...

u can go for motul 5100 it's semi sy. oil and it's very good for ur bike.

and could you review u r experience with oil.

Guys can I use motul semi-synthetic 5100 15W50 in Karizma R? Coz as per my knowledge any 5w40 or 15w40 or 10w40 oil we can use for zma, but oil must have grade 40 at ending. I MIGHT BE WRONG. So please guide me. if i use motul 5100 15w50, there any harm for engine?

their is no harm for engine what so ever.. U can use it.. but from my experience what I have learned is that if we use W50 in place of W40 Revving nature of bike becomes less & bike feels little sluggish.. but it works Impeccable during non stop long high speed riding

I feel thier is a 5w40 SS also available now.. Y dont you check it out else you can go for FS 5w40 which will suit your required grade

P150 DTSi. The bottle says synthetic blend, so I guess it is semi-synthetic. Will post a review once I use the oil.

I have been using Castrol GTX 20w50 in my P180UG3 (once my mechanic even poured in 20w40) and I rode the bike without any worries. About a month ago I changed to Castrol Power1 (Rs 300/-) and could almost immediately notice a lot of smoothness missing from the engine. The bike just didn't seem as buttery smooth as it used to be. Just yesterday, I've changed the oil to Valvoline 20W50 (Rs 275/-), and was almost shocked to see the oil coming out from the bike (the Power1) almost black in color although it hasn't been more than a month and I have hardly done 600Kms on the ODO.

Now I did purchase the oil from a reputed oil dealer in Nana Peth so I am not entirely positive the oil could be a fake... Any possible reasons for the oil going bad so early?

Oh BTW, the Valvoline's feeling OK as of now and I haven't been able to test the bike too much coz I got the oil filled just last night. Will post my experience with it soon here.
