the odo reading of my bike is 8k.and my buget is about 250-350.i wnt a oil which give a high pickup.and dsnt heat my engine on short run.

Buddy for ur budget max u can get is a semi synthetic oil.Try to stretch ur budget a bit.There's nuthin such a particular oil can give u a high pickup but different kind of oils offer different kind of pickup.If u want gud pickup then maintain ur bike well,tune ur carb properly or do sprocketing.If u want ur engine heat to be on the lesser side then u will have to use an oil having the viscosity of 20w50.You can try :

1.Veedol Super Swift.
2.Valvoline Premium 4T.
3.Gulf Pride 4T.
4.Castrol Activ Extra 20w50.
5.Elf Moto4 Gold.

@shabby: motul 5100 suits every bike bro.. And Its the best semi-synth oil according to me. But it seems it's outta your budget..
Go with the valvoline premium 4t its a semi-synth oil, costs around Rs.300
change it at 2k interval if you're not harsh on your bike

Drainage period always differs from rider to rider.Different riding style and different conditions.Motul lasts a bit longer than any other semi-synthetic oil.Keep checking oil level and condition after every 500-800kms.

That HeroHonda 10w30 is the same as their service centers in kolkata now .Awful !
Chuck it . Get 20w40 Motul/Gulf in summers .. in winters you can switch to 10w30 Motul/Gulf if you want (10w30 starts better in chilly mornings .. after warm up .. same ) . As your bike is still new , stick to their mineral oils . ESS-enterprise at Jadavpur beside the KPC hospital stocks both oils (authorised dealer ) & they also stock the shell oils . Drain old oil hot & refill with new . Clean , re-oil and refit your air-filter yourself ( NXG has the same foam-filter , or paper ? ) . Clean & oil your drive chain .Maintain correct air pressure at all times ( 25Front & 36Rear ? ) . Your fuel mileage should go up to 60kmpl atleast .

Thanks Pinaki I had procured Motul 4t 20w 40 from Ess enterprise Jadavpur.However it is a long distance from my home at north calcutta (i.e. Sinthimore). I will let you know about the performance after using the oil.Please also guide me about cleaning of Mobil filter of splendor nxg,it was supposed to be done by the HH workshop in 1st service but i am very much in doubt.The local technicians in our area is reluctant to perform this operation on the ground that it is not advisable to open out the clutch cover until overhauling is required. Pls advise.

Please also guide me about cleaning of Mobil filter of splendor nxg,it was supposed to be done by the HH workshop in 1st service but i am very much in doubt:

I got it cleaned at 2nd service, actually there was nothing to clean.. No nothing was there.
So, its not needed, at least now. Get it cleaned at the time of clutch plate change or overhaul.
Btw, its not oil filter as found in yamaha's or other premium bikes.. Its oil screener, used to catch metalic or other solid debris.

I had replaced my Unicorn's Block Piston and Clutch Plate in May.......and did an oil change....I had used Veedol Super Swift 10w40 Semi Synthetic oil. After 700 kms my bike started to feel sluggish,rough and the engine used to get pretty hot ...... I knew I had to do an oil change actually it was necessary to change the oil early because of the new block piston when the mechanic drained the oil hardly 300-400ml oil came out and the colour wasn't black it was coffee brown in colour I still don't know the reason....I used Castrol Power 1 after draining the old oil ......hardly after 350 kms the bike feels rough.....I knew that power 1 was a bad choice but I didn't have any option that day........but now I'm thinking of using Fully Synthetic oil either Motul, Petronas or most probably Agip...

Shell fully synthetic oils are difficult to procure in Mumbai.Im from mulund and luck was in my favour that i got the fully synthetic shell here itself.You can get it at Panchsheel cycle store,paanch rasta,mulund west.It's for Rs 720/-

Since u've got a recent engine overhaul,i would suggest u to use mineral oil for now.Synthetic's tend to be eaten up by engine very quick in their initial running period due to more friction produced by the engine.Go for a good mineral oil,later u can start with semi and then fully.

thanks for the suggestion I'm about to complete 1000 kms since changing the Block Piston so according to you after how much more kms.....I should use fully synthetic oil.......thanks
