  • AGIP Racing 4T 5W40

Well, I was looking at getting AGIP Racing 4T 5W40 fully synthetic oil for my Yamaha Gladiator. So called up the APAR Industries office in Chennai to inquire about the dealer from whom i can get this oil. I got the dealer name as S.K. Autos at General Patters Road, Chennai. so went up to S.K Autos shop today noon and asked for this 5W40 oil. They said that its not such a fast moving oil so they dont have the stock of 1l packs. And they dont even want to get the stock. All they had was a 4l CAN which was priced at 3000/-.

I dont want to buy a 4l CAN all at once because i want to try out the oil on my bike first to see how good it is.
Does anybody know where else can i get this oil in Chennai in 1l packing?

    Thanks.

Don't forget to post when you get answer. Been using Petronas Sprinta 5000 for a long time now. Would love to see how the Stntium works.

"Lot of stock problems by the company" I hung up and stopped hunting for the Sprinta 5000T and bought the FS Shell Advance Ultra @ 720/- still goin strong after 1400kms.Planning to drain this one at 3000kms depending on its condition.

However I am very much confused with the engine oil recommended by HH and want to change my Oil. I personally prefer Shell AX 5 10w30 engine oil but it is not readily available in Kolkata, my second choice is Servo 4t Zoom or Servo Goben which is readily available, please advise me. Presently after clocking 1600 km I am getting an average of 47.5 kmpl. Please shed some light.
That HeroHonda 10w30 is the same as their service centers in kolkata now .Awful !
Chuck it . Get 20w40 Motul/Gulf in summers .. in winters you can switch to 10w30 Motul/Gulf if you want (10w30 starts better in chilly mornings .. after warm up .. same ) . As your bike is still new , stick to their mineral oils . ESS-enterprise at Jadavpur beside the KPC hospital stocks both oils (authorised dealer ) & they also stock the shell oils . Drain old oil hot & refill with new . Clean , re-oil and refit your air-filter yourself ( NXG has the same foam-filter , or paper ? ) . Clean & oil your drive chain .Maintain correct air pressure at all times ( 25Front & 36Rear ? ) . Your fuel mileage should go up to 60kmpl atleast .

Buddy dont u think 36psi is too much for the rear tyre?? It's suppose to be 25psi front and 30psi rear without pillion rider or 32psi with pillion rider.

Spoke to AGIP Engine Oil Distributor (APAR Industries) today and they confirmed that the 5W40 grade synthetic oil is not being imported anymore from Italy. Instead they have a new oil with 20W50 grade to suit the Indian Conditions.

I also enquired about a couple of other brand engine oils such as Mobil 10W40 and Shell Helix 5W40 both being fully synthetic and costing 800/- per litre CAN. And I am not ready to spend this much amount on an Engine Oil.
So the engine oil dilemma starts again for me. So my question is
"Are there any Fully Synthetic Engine Oils out there which cost about 600-650/- max?"

                  Thanks,

                    • Yes I had some doubts regarding Shell Helix being a Car Engine Oil. Its for this doubt and also owing to its higher price, I didnt buy it right away.

And Thank You very much for listing out the info abt other brand engine oils.

                      Thanks,

                      • Petronas Syntium

Just called a petronas dealer in pune(Aru Traders) regarding new petronas syntium, he told that this oil will be available in 1st week of august & price tag is expected @ Rs 750/- per lit The older petronas sprinta which was @Rs430/- per lit. has been discontinued. So, from now onwards petronas is no more the cheapest synthetic 4t oil!

                                Absolutely No issues Dude
This is how I did it in My ZMA. Opened the drainage bolt, drained all the oil, fixed the drainage bolt, poured 500ml petrol in, kept it in idle for 2 mins, opened the drainage bolt and kept it open for 5-10 mins to let all the petrol evaporate, fixed the bolt, poured new oil in...Simple

Donno its the right way or not !!!
