pls provide full details of ur bike and ur driving conditions/style...

i do not recommend you switch to either SS or FS till 2k kms....
use motul mineral 3000 4T 20W40 or 20W50 till atleast 2k kms, then switch to SS/TS 5100 15W50 and if youfind it VFM and fulfilling your requirements, stick to it (or any other SS),if you have something like a 220 and you love to rip, after using the SS for abt 1.5~2k kms you can go to FS 300v 15W50 or 10W40

There is no known incompatibility between these engine oil types (else they wouldn't be selling it). Engine flush oils / diesel /kerosene/ petrol .. nothing is safe .. it can cause more problem than it solves . This is because you can never drain out all the oil that is in an motorcycle engine . So after using a lighter flushing oil , some of the mixture of old oil and flushing oil remains within the engine and mixes with your fresh new oil and spoils it somewhat . Moreover it can loosen & free some of the deposits that sits inside an old engine , thereby causing a block in the delicate oil paths or a gasket leak . As I said , you can never drain out all of the gunk from the flushing process completely .
Thanks for writing in.. So engine flushing is not a good option

        • help me ( PUlsar 220)

i have pulsar 220 which has clocked 4k kms. ans i am totally new to oils and i want to change bajaj's conventional mineral oil to semi synthetic or to fully synthetic but since fully synthetic oils are costly and gives leakage problem so my mind says to go with semi synthetic.

since i am totally new to all this please tell me the the advantages of SS or FS over mineral as well disadvantages . also answer some minor questions like when shifting from mineral to SS or FS oils flush is required or not ? and will PBK guys fill these oils if we give cans to them ?

also recommend FS and SS oils for Pulsar 220 and their price.

          thank you !!!!!!

          • Help Regarding Valvoline 4t premium

Hi folks, This is my first post in xbhp so forgive for any mistakes in posting.
Actually, I own a bajaj Discover 150 cc and i have been riding that since 11 months. It has clocked 11,000 KM on ODOmeter and All its free servicings are finished. It requires engine oil of 20w50 Grade and Now, I want to change the engine oil for this bike so i purchased Valvoline 4T Premium with API SM and JASO MA2 ratings.

But the problem is it is no where written that it is 20W50 Grade oil . Is Valvoline 4t Premium 20W50 only or is it something different.

I am attaching the Image of the engine oil i purchased. Please guide me whether is it 20W50 or something else.

P.S the oil is golden in colour and it resembles DABUR HONEY .

If any one can shred some light on it, It would be very helpful

as far as i know, mobil does not have any FS for bikes (atleast in hyd)
last time one shop fellow tried to sell me car FS oil and said that it ca be used in any vehicle, but that is not the case...so beware
i recommend you first use SS like shell ax7 10w40/petronas SS for abt 1.5k kms and then shift to FS.... as for the FS you can go for the 300v 10W40 if you can find the 7100,or even the shell ultra FS 10W40 or even the cheaper petronas FS(but change every 2.5k kms)

Are you sure Dogg. I bought Motul chain cleaner from this guy in RamKoti and he gave me 50 buck discount on MRP. Though his warehouse was really big, I m not sure if he stacks all products.

Shouldn't be a problem serioussam. Incase if you are one of those riders who like to rip the road day in and day out, this oil should be good. And yes, it does look tasty when you check its color .

Go ahead with SemiSynth (SS) Darshan. The usual Bajaj 10000 is no match for SS and FullSynth(FS). Since this will be your first leap into synths, I would suggest that you go ahead with another 4K Kms with SS and then skip to FS. It will do good to your bike and will be easy on pocket too . As far as flush goes, I m actually in favor of it ( I m sure there are many xBHPians for and against and its one of our tea time discussions ). Check out for 3M engine flush in your automarket. Else, you can go ahead without flush too.. shouldnt do you any harm. Keep a good eye on oil change when you hand over this to the mechanic. I came close to draining my 300V last time while servicing my bike at probike. So watch out. Cheers and post your experience back.

Why do you want to do that ? What will you do with rest of the 300V

IMO don't mix SS and FS, a strictly NO if they are from different grades. But there is no scientific data to support the idea that mixing mineral and synthetic oils will damage your engine

Kindly do not mix different grades of oils and even makes. Some like 300v will have double ester properties where as Shell might have something else to propel the support smoothness. Since these are chemicals, might only pray that do not react and bring the adverse effect on the engine. Stay away from these. This is my personal experience and opinion.
