Now it depends which oil did you fill in? If you've used Mineral oil and if you're bike is under 5000 KMS, then change it right now. If you're near 5k in ODO, then change to Fully Synthetic or else a refill of Mineral oil.
But if you've refilled already with Fully Synthetic, then wait for 3k KMS more!

You seem to be living in a hot city to be using a W50 oil for so long.
I'd suggest a change to full synthetic..
Review Motul Synthetic 7100 20W50 heard its wonderful for Pulsars and also Motul 300V

You can go for SS or FS with your eyes closed
If you want you can change to SS first and FS later.I will recommend Motul 5100 15W50 which comes at a price of 450 bucks. IMO its the best SS oil available.will easily last for 2500kms

I've received very poor reviews of 5100 and even on xBhp, they're same. Personally he doesn't need a SS anymore. Period.

Sorry Pal...but I ve never received -ve feedback of 5100 .Have you used it ?
I have used 5100 and it worked fine upto 2500kms.I have used Shell AX7 as well but its not as good as 5100.
I am using 300V from last 25-30k kms and very much satisfied with it.
Have you used 7100..is it better than 300V ???

Well see on my trip i was mostly above 100 for 1600kms and when i changed the oil today, if the color of the oil is a judge of its life, it still had another 500 kays or so left... So with your full ripping riding it'll last you at least 3000 kays i'd say.. 300v is best if you have the money..

                      • Best Engine Oil for Yamaha Gladiator SS

                        Hi guys!!

I ride a gladiator type SS since January 2009. Till the first free services at the SVC, i was using the Yamaha recommended mineral oil. Then after that i changed my bike's servicing to a local mechanic. He recommended me to use the Castrol GTX oil. Can anybody tell me if this is a good oil for Gladiator? And if not which oil to go for? FS, SS or Mineral and which brand?

                        Thanks!!
                        emzee.

before changing the oil change the mechanic, castrol GTX is for cars not bike

Refer: Castrol India - Passenger Car Oil

use mineral oil, try either motul or gulf or valvoline or elf or castrol from genuine dealer make sure the oil obeys the company recommended grade (example 20 - w 40)

                            CLASSIC!! xD

Really.. Impart some knowledge about engine oils to your mechanic or he's gonna screw up a lot of clutch plates and what not...
