I switched to agip FS 10w40 for my Fazer and after it hit minimun mark,I topped up with the same agip FS..only now do I realize that it was actually agip FS 20w50 So my bike has been running for the past 4k kms with a hybrid of 10w40 and 20w50..I still have about 180ml of the 20w50 left..I have got the 180cc big bore fitted from Joel and he told me not to use any thin oil like 10w40 etc. so I am planning to change oil as my run-in is complete.Should I buy another 1 litre of 20w50 agip FS and use the remaining 180ml too as I am going to change the oil filter..the quantity required is 1.2L..waiting for help
    Also I would have 1.18 L and not 1.2 litre..will that be a problem??
Better if you revert back to the stock oil for now. however to ensure that all the previous mixed oil is removed try to get something called as washer...
washer is something that clean the oil out of the bike oil tank. and it is generally recommended while switching between oils like if ur switching from mineral oil to semi-synthetic then using washer you ensure that previous oil is totally removed.. you can use that same technique to removed the previous mixed oil and start clean
Patience is something you admire in the driver behind you and scorn in the one ahead..

      • Change to fresh oil of correct grade when you can . No urgency . The volume you used for the top up is not large enough to cause any problem . There is no known incompatibility between a mineral and a synthetic oil , or between different grades of oil too . What may happen at most is that the top up with a heavier oil has increased the weight of your 10w40FS oil a tiny bit overall .
For next change I would suggest you use a good mineral oil of correct grade for your bike , or better still ,as Joel's suggests for his bore untill run in is complete . Not necessary to use engine-flush or anything else in between changes .

And change your oil to 20w50 or atleast 15w50.
Btw, I'm also inclined towards thicker oils.
          Happy biking..

For Bangalore winters , on stock 180cc bike ,very good , yes . But if Joel suggests to avoid thin oils like 10w40 , I would not fill a 15 weight oil either . And definitely not a full synthetic during run in of a newish bore . 20w50 mineral would be best IMHO .

Hmm but Joel told me that it was ok to use a synthetic oil,as the run-in is complete now and was also done on FS oil..again on his word..will go for the 15w50 for now and see how it goes..agip 20w50 is out of stock everywhere,or I would have gone for that..thanks for taking the time to help me out man, really appreciate it!
              Cheers!!

It is a gem, very under-rated, I have been using it in my Fiero for the past 3K+ kms and I am very very happy customer, though I cannot comment on the 10K drain interval, I would change it at a max of 3K kms irrespective of what the manufacturer says.
