Actually, I have done a masters in oil research. I have tried everything on my Fiero, it is a 10+years old bike, the problem with synth oils on older bikes like the Fiero is that the clutch slips if you revv the bike and shift gears, but while using mineral oils, the clutch doesnt slip at all, no matter how much I revv and shift gears there is no clutch slippage, believe me I have tried them all from Motul, valvoline, castrol, shell etc, etc. The Gullf pride is a pretty good oil, I have done close to 1.25 lacs on my Fiero, you can trust me .

I second that-Fieros respond best to 20w40 mineral oils, be it Motul or Gulf.
I have messed up a couple of sets of clutch plates too prematurely due to experimenting with various oil grades&types!

Undoubtedly u r M.Eo (Masters of Engine oil) I have seen your posts right from page 2 & hardly any page is devoid of your expert comments.
so...u wanna mean that mineral oil is better than synthetic when it comes to clutch. But even then what about keeping the engine cool? is mineral oil still better

I too must have changed a dozen times, owing to synth oil craze and a few crap ones.

I see that you own a Dazzler which is a new model, so synth should do fine, you can go for synth if you have the money, if not the mineral oils are not bad either Gulf, Motul, Shell mineral oils are all pretty good, you wont go wrong with any of these. You had specifically asked about Gulf hence my comments on it. I would still say stick to mineral, the dazzler is any way a smooth bike, with smooth gear shifts so it shouldn't matter.

Lubricants ::Valvoline Cummins:: go for motul instead.....
Yes , I can confirm that I saw Valvoline 4T premium available here is "synthetic-blend" 300 something Rs , this very same bottle packaging while I was shopping yesterday for a 20w50 for my friend's kawasaki wind-125 .... got Veedol Turbostar 20w50 mineral instead for 220 Rs . Problem is , we just now came home to drain & refill his bike and I saw that it's marked as "car oil" no jaso marking I could find on it either .... back to shop tomorrow it seems . Will have to get the valvoline now it seems , very few choices in 20w50 here . Anyone used this veedol turbostar in bikes (other than enfields) ?

                    Hello rags,

Wow!! This is great news. Please let me know where you can get in Bangalore. I am put up in CV Raman Nagar. Waiting to get my hands on one. Scooter badly due for service. Was thinking of getting Motul 3000 4T Plus in place of this due to non availability.

After minerva circle, going towards Majestic, along JC Road, you will find a signal, you need to take a left here, if you take right you will go to Urvashi theatre [Siddaiah Road], after taking a left, travel around 50 meters and keep looking to the left, you should see a tyre shop, just below it[ in basement] there is two wheeler spare parts shop, where you should find this, I am sorry, I dont recall the name, just go there and check one or two shops you should get it there.

Hey Abhi, Thanks for the update man. I too have to say this GULF is really really good, very under rated. I have been using it in the big bore for more than 3K with lots of ripping and the engine still feels great, even Shell, Motul does not feel like this.

My Dazzy is 5k kms old. svc guys never use anything other than honda oil & recommend to use mineral oil till 9 k kms. is that true?
is it necessary to use mineral oil till 9k kms? whats the reason?
