Open face helmets wont protect you as much as the full face does, even tho if it blocks your view as you say there are mirrors to help you see whats behind I know RE vibrates a lot but still

I Have Worn An LS2 Full Face Helmet In The Past On My Pulsar200NS,It Weights Too Much And I Dont Like A Full Face Helmet As It Blocks The View.

Can Someone Please Suggest A Preferably Light Open Face Helmet With Shield?

        Thanks
I dont think any allergy would effect that much on the injured face. So you can continue using the open face helmet, no issue with that.

How about one of those inverted flower pots or better yet the ones they wear at construction sites?

How is the SMK? Does it fare well against reputable and economical brands like MT?

So i have read. This is one helmet which has not been marketed properly. Apary from its quality, the price too is a steal deal. Wait for force Series, it is due to me available in the market soon.

Its an absolute bang for the buck for that price. You get a pin lock fitted visor with it. None of the brands in this price point gives a pin lock fitted visor.

Actually I have not been able to use the helmet properly. But I felt the lining quality, the finishing etc are very good. My main reason for selecting this was that it's weight was same as that of MT Mugello and MT Axxis helmets. The lining and fitting was good. The studds customer care was very helpful when I contacted them regarding the dealers in Bangalore etc.

I first tried SMK, MT, STUDDS SHIFTER and Vega Freelive at Megha enterprises/Moto 101 ( they are owned by same people), I couldn't get convinced that MT was any how better than SMK.
Then I went to the distributor Abhishek Automobiles. And tried shifter and SMK once again. Got a good discount and finally picked up a medium Matt black one

SMK is a value for money ece rated safety helmet with just plain marketing gimmick.Even a normal steelbird oscar whose rate is 1200rs has a pin lock visor.
But MT SOL LS2 are way better in terms of technicality as well as performance if SMK was at par with MT and other brands then it would have a MOTO GP presence, but SmK is nowhere near the MoTO GP grid.

I am no authority in helmets. Just put forward my thoughts. In the given price range, is it still better to go for MT brand as compared to other ones? Does MT Mugello / Axxis offer better protection than SMK helmets. I felt that for a person like me whose daily travel is just 10-12 min of city traffic ride in the morning and the same in the evening with a rare highway ride, the price range of 4000 was good enough. In that price range SMK was better because of the easy availability of spares.
                            Just my thoughts

Helmet is the only piece of life saving equipment you have when on a bike. Try to get the best helmet that you can, by extending your budget as much as you can.

That said MT Revenge & MT Matrix are 2 very good helmets, reasonably priced that have been rated 5 star by Sharp.

So why compromise with safety for just a couple of grand rather than having a peace of mind.

SMK helmets are very new with no actual reviews or ratings on the products. LS2 also has been plagued with fakes in the market.

MT is a good alternative (Revenge & Matrix) or one can also look at HJC, Bell.

                              Cheers
