Dude can you tell me why you opted for LS2 & not for AGV or Cross?? Its almost same price range between Cross & LS2 but I noticed Cross is preferred by many of us over here & even all the shops dealing in Cross helmets but a very few dealing in LS2 helmets. The helmet dealer insisted me to buy LS2 over Cross or AGV (he had all helmets) since according to him its much safer & better quality & widely used brand internationally by professional riders. I'm just confused because I dont see many users getting the LS2 nspite of it being an equally comparable lid with Cross/LS2 or even betterOriginally posted by thegeneboy View Post

Cross is a really nice helmet & personally experienced. The fitting is excellent. AFAIK you should easily get it within 3000 Rs.Originally posted by mitz View PostGuys I'm about to buy a new lid within a week & I have been to lots of shops in mumbai & tried a few lids. Generally I'm looking forward to go for AGV( approx quoted price range 2000-3000 ), Cross ( 3000 +) or LS2 (2800+)
Few of my friends have suggested for Vega & I like it too but since I could stretch my budget upto 3 k, i'm looking for a sturdier branded helmet.
My only doubt is that are there any chances of getting a duplicate AGV, Cross, LS2 branded helmets since the places where I inquired for the helmets are small dealers so I doubt on the originality of their helmets. I have considered the option of buying the helmet from a reputed store but there is a considerable difference in the prices of similar branded helmets & models so I am more keen towards smaller retailers since the quality of their helmets seems to be at par with the professional reputed dealers. So is there any way to make sure if the AVG, Cross or LS2 helmet i'm buying is a genuine one & not a copy of the original brands?? I mean any manufacturer booklet provided, or any holograms, logo etc
What accessories are surely expected with the AGV, Cross or LS2 helmets (extra visor, helmet bag, skull cap etc)
Lastly, what about warranty?? Few of the dealers have bargained to lower the prce by as much as 400-500 if I'm not asking for a invoice from them. This would definitely mean no warranty. I'm not in favour of buying without bill but would like to know what the warranty may cover apart from the visor & helmet strap.
Thanks,
Regards.
Mitesh
About other brands am not sure, but I think AGV is an excellent helmet too.
You check in A. H. Helmets, A. A. Helmets, Andheri. A.H Helmets particularly will give you nice discount if you tell him about xBHP, as many of us are his regular customers.

Hey guys,this is vaibhav.
well i just got my new helmet some weeks ago.its the new vega shadow(eye) watever. As far as the helmet goes,it fits really well, the tinted visor gives a really good view both in day and in night.
I was using Vemar VSS Boomerang for past 3 yrs and was pretty happy with it.Vemar VSS boomerang is the same one which is sold by studds as studds rhyno now, although studds is now built in india, while vemar was actually an italian import.
It was time for new helmet as vemars padding was loose and it had gained sum scratches and all.
As i was searchin for helmets i came across various brands,KBC,AGV(italian) and MPA AGV,Cross,index......
KBC i tried along with my friend,a fellow xbhpian hanoz,it was gr8..fit was awesome but the price was too steep, range startin at arnd 15k.sparx was other one available at the same store at arnd 8k,but not dat gr8 on fit and designs.
AGV italian was arnd 8k for normal ones and upto 35k for Rossi Replicas
AGV from mpa was for arnd 2k but the fit was a bit of a question for me..as i wasnt comfy.the helmet was too big for me and none of the shops where i had seen agvs earlier could give me enough padding.the helmet was loose and added trouble was the way its paddings were designed,my specks would jus move inside the helmet(ddint fit well).so AGV was outta q.
I wasnt too sure abt index quality, esp the rubber linings and paddings.
Cross was one brand which was pretty decent for its price but then ..just as hanoz was about to pik it up,the shop owner himself told us to wait for 4 weeks as new helmets were abt to be imported.he was very frank and helpful in telling us that we would have probs gettings visors later for cross helmets,so it was advisable not to take it.
He told us to wait for Vega Imports.I wasnt too sure abt vega as i had kinda developed this image of vega in my mind after seein all these openface/modular and small tiny full face helmets dat we see on road regularly from them.I wanted a proper fullface helmet.
Anywas we both decided to wait for 4 week.4 weeks later turned into arnd 2 months and once fine day i got a call from Hanoz sayin hes bought LS2.i immediately went to his place to try the helmet.the helmet fit was nice.the double d ring strap was just too good.the only issue i felt was its dark visor.it was tooo dark for night riding.
I anywas thought of goin to the store and trying out the new imports.Ls2 matte black was bought by my frnd for INR2300,2800 for graphics ones.Vega was said to be 3500.i tried both, vega's fit was amazing, the helmet was much lighter, the visor clarity was just too good.
I bargained and finally managed to get the helmet for arnd INR 3000.I ended up payin a bit too much as my other frnd got the same helmet fom sumwhere else for INR2700.
The helmet was good but the padding was kind off loose so i went to the shop (AA helmet,Andheri,Mumbai) after a week to check out if i could get a smaller size, and got a new small padding replaced for no cost.
The helmet now is goin gr8,visor is good, not much noise from air while u ride and the build quality is good too.
I feel Ls2 is a nice buy if u can find a Clear visor bcos its dark visor is just too dark for night rides. The padding and chin strap is awesome.
Vega shell design is better, different and the graphics r much better.visor is many times better dan LS2,more clear and helmet feels light when u ride, venting system on vega is good too,the thermocol on top is actually havin channels thru it to actually allow air to pass over ur head, other helmets dat i checked jus had holes drilled into it.while this one had proper channels.
Im very satisfied wid my buy.Check out pics.

I spoke to the AH helmets dealer on phone today & he quoted me AGV's for 2100, Cross @ 3000 & LS2 @ 2800 (less 10% disc on all to be deducted) I will drop by there tomorrow & check it out personally. Is it recommended to further carry on my quest to A.A helmets ? Anything price/quality difference as compared to A.H helmets?
Great review of the helmet dude. You answered many of my points, as I am confused between AGV, Cross & LS2. Liked your helmet too, looks fantastic & sturdier then other Vega's but I would just like to kno why you bought Vega over Cross/LS2?? LS2 sounds pretty good & I have tried it too. Cross visors are not that much of an issue in mumbai i guess. Anyways where did you buy the helmet from?Originally posted by jaidevmahambre View PostHey guys, this is vaibhav.

Hey hi,well the reason i chose vega over ls2 was primararily its fit,its design(shell),its visor and its vent system which is much better dan ls2.i hav ridden for a short while wid ls2,its a nice helmet no doubts but as i said earlier, its visor is too dark not suitable for night riding.plus the smallest size in ls2 was Medium while i wanted small.vega fitted me perfectly and overall quality seemed as good as if not better dan ls2.Originally posted by mitz View PostI checked out at Perfomance racing store, Bachhoo motors, Funky's & few other local shops in south mumbai.

regarding cross,i never really liked em,i was pretty much worried abt those button type vents on their lids, they tend top break as my frnds had a few issues wid their cross/gpr.secondly i bought my helmet from AA helmet, the owner who knows us well told me not to buy cross/gpr cos of the visor shortage dat he was anticiapting.
Im happy wid my vega one..if not dat id hav gone for ls2..
but no cross for me
One imp info dat the shop owner shared wid me and hanoz was dat cross/gpr and vega r actually made under same factory and share basic shell designs as an attempt to bring down shell manufacture/testing costs, the price diff is cos of the density(grain) of the material used, vent designs which can b varied acc to the individual brands requiremen, also fabric of internal liners/padding
He told me vega was much better in all respects hence he told me to wait for 4 weeks
where r u from ??mumbai?
Well, btw AA helmets seems to hav a better range dan AH.il b goin der tomm too for sumwork mebbe.we can meet if u r gonna be der at same time.we can decide on time.Last edited by jaidevmahambre; 03-05-2010, 09:15 PM.

I just went to a local shop & saw the same VEga that you bought but in different colour. It is indeed a classy product from vega. Amazing design especially the backside vents. Also saw the LS2 & price quoted for both of them was approx Rs 2800 after discounts. I tried both helmets & found LS2 a bit uncomfortable then vega so I guess u made a right choice overall. Tomorrow wont be possible for me since I have some other plans but I would definitely visit AA helmets/AH helmets by monday or tuesday. If possible, I would appreciate your company to the shop. ''GLIDERS'' helmets
Guys my friend bought this helmet called gliders MC1. we actually went to buy an AGV but didnt get any other brand except studds, gliders and some brand called slick. we finally bought gliders MC1 for 1.2k. i must say that this is a very new company and has a good range of different graphics also. i actually consulted another xbhpian before buying this helmet too. the quality is good and the padding also seems to be very good. i tested this helmet for a day and found it to be very comfortable and airy. now the question is, even i want to buy a new lid for myself as my vega is 3 yrs old now. but i am confused whether i should go for this helmet or not. i even saw this helmet in delhi too as one p200 guy was wearing it. please advice me.

Well i had similar helmet before. I faced quite some problems with it. As you see this is a MX helmet, it has a projection on top. So when you ride at high speeds (above 80), the projection tends to cut air and the helmet gets pushed up because of the air. I will suggest you go for something better than this (which does not have that projection).Originally posted by addyrulz01 View PostGuys my friend bought this helmet called gliders MC1. we actually went to buy an AGV but didnt get any other brand except studds, gliders and some brand called slick. we finally bought gliders MC1 for 1.2k. i must say that this is a very new company and has a good range of different graphics also. i actually consulted another xbhpian before buying this helmet too. the quality is good and the padding also seems to be very good. i tested this helmet for a day and found it to be very comfortable and airy. now the question is, even i want to buy a new lid for myself as my vega is 3 yrs old now. but i am confused whether i should go for this helmet or not. i even saw this helmet in delhi too as one p200 guy was wearing it. please advice me.

i surely agree to your points guys but as i live in bhopal, i dont have many choices. and secondly my friend is using this helmet from the past two months and it shines in everything, be it build quality or comfort. i compared it with an MPA MX helmet also. the difference was that this has a visor which the MPA doesnt have. and in bhopal streets i usually dont cross 60 so i dont think wind will play such a bad part with the shape . wat do you guys suggest now?. i need to make a decision in two or three days. i will be seeing some helmets today also. will let you guys know.
