for around 3.5k CROSS has modular types.and for 3k you can get normal full face from CROSS/AGV.

Saw the range of riding gears stocked at Orion Yamaha, opposite Forum mall.

The Imported AGV's cost 8.5k upwards. Tried MPA and the Indian AGV. Personally liked the MPA ones as the latter was heavier than the MPA.

Any feedback on the MPA helmets? The one i saw had removable inner padding and cost less than 3k. Cross was almost on the same lines of the Imported AGV's so they are out of reach.

Finally bought my favorite vega after lots of dillema and discussions over here , from balaji helmets bangalore. got it for 3.1k coz i m not that good at bargaining. The deal was over in 10 mins as i wanted this specific one and hence didnt bargain much.

This is available for 2.8k without bargain in chn. One more thing is, you cannot see any certification for this helmet. As per the shop keepers here in chennai, these helmets are imported from Thailand and then distributed here and hence there is no ISI/ECE/DOT/SNELL certification.

So i cancelled my plans of buying this lid and came back home empty handed.

i saw this in the vega's ad in some reputed magazines like auto india, etc...Also the built quality looked good and sturdy compared to other helmets in this range..

Buddy in trivandrum almost all accessories and safety gears are costly(and most shop keepers don't know the basics of customer care). try auto queen in Cochin. I am sure you would get a much better deal

i know that man, most of us guys are approaching autoqueen nowadays for bike related things....we have bought many gears from there and he knows us all pretty well now. But i couldnt find this lid at AQ, he had just cross and MPA AGV at that time.

The MPA range of helmets are good and very well priced. Do NOT however buy them from Orion as they charge a premium of around 500 bucks compared to other helmet shops in Blore. Unless you are feeling generous and dont know what to do with 500 bucks in which case Ill PM you my account details and you can transfer it to me .....

Instead try Balaji helmets , helmets paradise etc: Reliance Autozone has MPA & AGV helmets as well that are very well priced. MPAs were around 1600 IIRC & MPA AGVs were 2100 bucks.

i need your help. Iam looking to pick up a helmet for my girl. I have no experience with the ladies helmet, hence iam posting it here to know a few specific things.

my requirements:
1) open face (since she will never wear a full face one ,no matter how much
i try to convince her. i only know how much emotional blackmail i had to
do to extract a yes from her for atleast an open face one) so its very
important that it has to be comfortable to wear.

2) it should be light weight with removable and washable inner lining

3) it should have vibrant colours (pink would do)

is there any helmet in the market which fullfills these requirements?
i once saw some steelbird-bieffe half faced helmets in italian flag colours in bike india mag but unfortunately dont know the model name or the features.

if you guys know something about it please enlighten me.and a few words about the expected price as well so that i dont get cheated big time. her birthday is coming and i want to gift her the helmet. need your help please...

There is one outlet which I checked out a few weeks back which is located on the ring road between silk board & aghara circle. Its around 750 m before the signal at the lake on your left if you are going from silk board

Oh..I didn't know that even auto queen doesn't keep adequate stock. I have heard guys buying original AGV (not MPAs) from there. So I thought they keep a diverse collection.

Would like to get two inputs from you...I know MPA AGV are good in quality, you where saying about seeing Cross in AQ, how are they? on par with Vega?

Also in Trivandrum which is the best place to buy helmets, jackets, other riding gear?

I was also trying to find the comparison between cross and new vega (some say import vega!, dont know if its true or if its export vega -made to be exported)...
I heard AQ sells at best rates in Kerala (comparatively)..hope its true

am surprised that AQ does not have much stock. They have/had a store room in the same building where they used to stock GPR helmets (my bro has seen it) & they have/had a house on rent nearby where they stock MPA AGVs. Have gone there & searched through their entire stock when I went to buy my current lid. Prices would be less than elsewhere cause they are distributors for helmets in Kerala

@burnrubbernotursoul - happened to see a guy wearing a pink open face MPA helmet today. Come to think of it balaji helmets used to have women's helmets on display so I guess the should be available in all cities

i dont think there is any issue of "lack of Stock" in AQ.I guess Varun was referring to lack of VEGA only!

I didnt mean that AQ doesnt have adequate stock....They didnt have the stock which i ve shortlisted....AGV lisd are quite expensive which are way out of my budget. lijok bought it from AQ for 6k whereas my budget is only 3k. Also, MPA AGV and CROSS and LS2 and even vega booligan weighed much more than this vega..

SID, There is no good place to buy any other stuffs than helmet in trivandrum. Even yesterday, jayamohan bro drove to AQ to buy his cramsters. helmets are avilable at amba auto, but are much oevrpriced.Ghost riders also sell them but they take stock from AQ only.

dude, dont compare booligan with this, the make quality is far far better. I have used booligan extensively . My friend's booligan's front flipping part's spring broke off, then the inner glass came out, the padding just went off without doing anything and i had to buy another set!!!...
Main thing between this vega and cross is the weight factor, it helps a lot during long tours. Then the shell design, i liked this one than cross which is mostly plain(not the graphics). The visors are easier to get for vega and are also priced sanely at 400 bucks. I tried all when i went to buy and found the fitting perfect with vega.

No doubt, AQ is the largest dealer over here and hence selling at the most competitive rates. comparison..i ve made in the previous quote
