Do we have any other MT model other than Axxis in INDIA?
Not at this time. Many more models will be introduced in the coming months though.

No THH please. Though the shell is hard it's too heavy. After sometime of continuous riding you will have neck pain. SOL is always the better option. My wife loves her SOL.

Would anyone Please suggest a light weight helmet under 1.5k.
Has to be Light in weight because I have a acute neck problem.
Have bought & tried few random helmets before but after just 1-2 rides of around 10 mins neck muscles spasm is experienced.

Brother the safety will be compromised with elcheepo helmets, ehy not save some cash and get a little costlier yet light weight helmet? Fastrack is getting carbon fiber ones for 8k,
And for about 1.8 to 2k you can get lightweight vega helmets, motocross looalikes are light but very unsafe....

Go for carbon fibre helmet. Steelbird has one around 10k. I can understand your problem of neck muscle spasm. I get earache due to wind noice and its always important for me to choose my helmet cautiously...
I hope carbon fibre will suit your requirment.

He asked for suggestions for a lightweight helmet under 1.5K and you suggest a carbon fibre helmet of 10K?
curve_king, you'll have to settle between protection and getting your neck used to the helmet. In any case the normal ones will be about 1300 gms to 1500 gms - so better buy a Studds Scorpion for 1.7K (200 rupees more) and be assured of the safety factor.
I don't mean to be rude, but could you not wear the helmet for a few minutes at a time daily (as in neck exercise) and get accustomed to the weight by doing this exercise a few times daily? Your neck muscles should get used to it after a few days.

well said sir but we both don't really know the extent of his neck spasm problem and if its really bad then buying a 1500 hundred helmet is not going to help him. And as all seniors continue to suggest here that cheap helmets may not be safe otherwise also. And if its a special case, he or for that matter any of us should consider an option which suits best. certainly no one here will suggest a helmet under Rs.1300-1500/. would you buy and use a studds jade costing 800 rs and is precisely near 1000 gms. would you consider it an option for your neck spasm on the cost of safety?

We should not equate 'cheap' with bad till we know about the quality factor. Something is better than nothing, in this case. I used to use a Studds Ninja earlier on, had a fall, saved my head with it, so it was definitely safe. Of course, I was at a sane speed in the city, and I would not advocate that helmet for the highway.

Now, since he specified a budget of 1500 rupees, I suggested a Scorpion which is a very good helmet for the price, I don't think there are compromises on safety. I could easily suggest a Nexx, which is lightweight, but we all need to keep in mind that not everyone has the budget for an expensive helmet, that is why they state a particular price range.

As for the OP who asked the query, he/she is comfortable with a 1.1 kg helmet, therefore 1.3 to 1.5 kgs shouldn't make such a huge difference. In any case, they're ignoring the exercise factor, so there is no need for further inputs as the OP knows what is needed from their end.

hi, quick question. How much would the visor for MT helmet cost. I need a clear one. The folks on Lal Bagh road quoted Rs 550/- and is it possible to order online ( i don't stay in bangalore )

yes i agree but buying a scorpion may meet his budget requirements but not his neck. but here in this case neck is important. if he is ok with a 1500 gms helmet even then most of the people will here suggest or advice him to extend his budget and buy a better one if he can. if not then yes scorpion and shifter etc are good choices. but again he will need a light weight helmet even if he continue with exercises.
