zeus is not even listed as a dealer of sol on spartan website,how can one differentiate between original and duplicate stuff,first it was ls2 now sol

This is an official statement released a few days ago, which I am re-posting here.

"As of May 1st, SPG suspended SOL imports from Taiwan due to conflict of interest reasons that are internal. SOL had decided to unilaterally adopt a new policy with regard to India which SPG felt were not in good faith or best interest of the community and market. SPG which has always had the market's best interest in mind has decided to adopt a neutral stance to allow the new policy to take effect before committing itself to further distribution of SOL products.

Existing SPG customers of SOL Helmets are re-assured of service backup from SPG and also warranty issues. SPG and its dealer network in the meanwhile will continue to sell the SOL helmets in their inventory with the same assurance of warranty and service backup offered before."

I would not like to comment Nadz; all trade has complications and equations that change and shift, let me just say that SPG and SOL were no longer on the same page with regard to its India policy. I can honestly say that I don't know which company is importing SOL helmets now but I dare-say that the mystery will end soon.

SPG in the meanwhile is working on something new and more in line with its policies. Expect to hear about it soon!

Guys, I am looking for a full face helmet in the range of 6-8k, possibly red color to go with my 200NS. Pls suggest some decent ones.

I was hell bent on buying SOL SF1 ACME red since the last 2months, but the damn thing is not available and SPG would say 1 month wait(they have been doing this for 3-4 months now) BTW I am from Mysore. My cousin lives in Chennai so thought of getting it through him. He almost visits/calls the shop every week as its on the way to IT park. Not a positive response from them so far. I've tried my friends solid black SOL 68 S2, M is the right fit for me, wondering if the SF1 would be the same too?(I was the one who showed him the SOL and convinced him to buy SOL instead of an LS2, now he thinks I duped him coz his lid is already 3 months old and mine is still a figment of imagination)

Anyway, as it seems I might not own the SOL in the immediate future, I need some other suggestions (RED). Please help ASAP. I might make use of this boring weekend after all.

P.S- Open to all kind of suggestions (Price 8k max)

Just checked both Zeus and Spartan sites, both are offering the helmets at the same price. I don't know if the price were updated since I last checked or whether I was confused .. Anyways apologies for the confusion.

Sir, so far i have been suggesting my friends to go with SOL helmets as i personally like the quality and the features. So, with the statement you gave ( above ) and as a person who knows the future of SOL in India, do u suggest someone NOW to go ahead and buy one ?

Just checked both Zeus and Spartan sites, both are offering the helmets at the same price. I don't know if the price were updated since I last checked or whether I was confused .. Anyways apologies for the confusion.

You might have looked at different models SL48 and SF-1 kinda looks the same and I got confused when I saw the site.

I guess I need to stock one extra visor.

Sandeep - the very first SOL imported officially into India about 4 years ago is in my possession. SPG introduced and built this brand exclusively since then, backing it up with warranty support and after sales, staking its own reputation to do so because it was convinced of the quality of the product. I'm sure that you can imagine that the parting of ways has not been easy for SPG - something like letting go of your own baby - but it is precisely because SPG is no longer certain of the future of the brand that they have done so.
