    One question that irks me no end:
    How does one dispose of a used/old/crashed helmet?

    All opinions are most welcome.

    • @Chilled: I am not going for a new helmet..... sticking to the Daijya as of now.... I don't feel its cracked and would pose any issues in the next crash.

      Am very sorry to say.... but the quality of KBC (at least those below 11k) and SparX helmets is not good enough. Tried all three (KBC, SparX and Daijya) helmets back to back yesterday night at Dhaba G2G (in panvel).... and Daijya felt the most secure and comfortable. I dont know how you felt the quality of SparX better than others. Both the other helmets are not snug enough to hold ur face properly (the padding is just too soft) (I have also checked both smaller sizes).

      If I were to say.... SparX quality (very entry level) is just next to a hi-end Vega helmet... only the padding sponge ka covering is good... and the velvet finish makes one feel good, other than that... after doing a detailed comparison... I would not pay SparX more than 2.5k.
      And mainly speaking... the SparX helmet chin area is so less (due to the small form factor of the helmet shell).... if you push the helmet from the front by hand... chin touches it (even the padding does not hold ur face properly).... what would happen in a crash... when the blow directly comes on the chin/jaw area !!

      PS: No offence to anybody !!
      KBC Helmet---> Ajinkya
      SparX Helmet---> Sneh
      Daijya Helmet---> Sumit

      • I am in total disagreement with Chetan. My SparX is the best
        Daijya is all show and no go. How can one endorse it? How can you even think to compare this cheap chinese crap with an american brand
        I would not go for it even if you are gifting it to me
        Enough said. On a serious note, A good padding should be soft enough to be able to shrink so that it take the shape of the head. It's my understanding.
        Regarding soft padding, i will be able to comment only after 6 months of use. It has been holding my head pretty much tightly for last 3 months.

          Hehe... no offence from my side dude... SparX is an excellent brand. Daijya does not qualify to the safety standards I know... but still .

          My only take is... if soft padding is better... coz it wud take ur head shape... then y do KBC helmets (only 12k upwards) have hard padding (as in Daijya)..?? Btw... even hard padding takes the shape of ur head

          I have always liked branded (big brand names in all the things) stuff ... and believed that they are always better.... but this time I take a different side.

          Waiting for the next 3 months for ur personal review on the helmet

          • ^^^ Are bhailog kyon jhagda kar rahe ho ;D

            @Chetan : again, i will repeat my point, i have no knowledge of the Daijya brand and so against it while comparing it with sparx (well known brand).
            Also the fact they do replace the helmet in case of a crash proves alot of things.(Abhi is baat pe mat jhagdo ki ye India main nahin hota).

            Just because a helmet fits well doesnot mean it holds well while crashing.
            This from a guy who himself uses Ninja and fasttrack helmet(Iska to naam hi nahin hai kahin) hehehehe but yeah compared ti Ninja i feel more secure in fasttrack even after a crash.

            @Sneh : dude am with u bro, let chetans head be in Daijya, I will buy Sparx

            PEACE !

                When they say they will provide a free replacement on crashed helmets.... this shows how low-cost helmets they are... the manufacturer wont be facing any losses while replacing many helmets. That is just my take.

                      On a serious note- its not like we just send them a broken helmet.
                      U need to get a police report and also a note sayin how well the helmet faired
                      And BTW, how can u say its low cost helmet ? when u dont even know where Daijya is manufactured .
                      I somehow forgot the place in Pune where NV had mentioned Daijya is manufactured and mind u sir NV uses Daijya.

                      Now lets start a war here ... SPARX VS DAIJYA !!! hahahahahaha

                          Abe....SparX is a low cost helmet range (from KBC).... they are almost the cheapest helmets you can buy internationally.

                          Thats nanapeth in Pune .... thats just a faltu thing that we keep saying coz Daijya is under contraversy .... not true actually.

                          Btw... how a helmet fits.... is the first thing you should check before buying a helmet (ofcourse the authenticity of the safety standards too).
