Helmets

Has anybody ordered helmets from studds website ?

How much is delivery cost..
how long do they take to deliver ?

Long while back, I had the same intention to buy the Ninja from their website, but their payment gateway was so crappy, I just refrained from doing so, and moreover, I tried calling them for the same, sent them mails, no reply whatsoever.

My advice, stick to local distributors, plus you can bargain a little, if you intend to.

Cheers!

I am Planing to buy tinted visor for day time use...I Have SL-68S II Metal Man Grey/Silver...what type of shades/tints are available in India?? Any Idea of shipping charges to Navi Mumbai if i order online???

I too wanted a smoked visor for my MetalMan but the SOL dealer said that only transparent visors are available for this model.
If you do get smoked visors please check for the GMax logo on it.

Genuine DOT or ECE helmets can only be shipped with clear visors as per the law. All SOL and NeXX helmets come shipped with only clear as they are imported direct from factory. Tinted and Iridium visors are always sold as aftermarket accessories. Ask your dealer for these and don't accept excuses!

Smoked (tinted) visors come with the GMax logo embossed like the clear but cant be seen on Iridium visors, since the mirroring process covers the embossed logo.

1. Found both to be similar in terms of quality. The inner lining of LS2 is of darker shade, easier to keep clean. Cross are of light grey color, will get dirty quicker. Cross has various range starting from 2500.00. LS2, have mostly seen the same range but different decals. Don't take the pump version of either as there is no repair in India and have heard some complaints

2. Not sure about Hyde, but can try helmetshopee.com

3. Same visor of LS2 an Cross. First hand experience as Chopras showed it to me. Took out from Cross and put it on LS2

4. If you are just considering Cross vs Ls2 then they are same. Might be some difference in mm which could be due to the shell design + inner lining.

Thanks for the useful information bro. Will personally check out the stores here in Hyderabad and then decide. I will post some pics as soon as I get my new lid. Thanks again.

Naah I don't wear Specs... with Tinted visor I don't think its possible to wear Specs but with Tranparent /primary visor you can easily...

[rajpandey10]

Thanks shahbaz... Actually i am looking for helmet which has both the visor and can able to wear spects... Does anyone can suggest me where can i get in Delhi and of which brand..

[shahbaz63]

To be Frank, I don't see such a Helmet as of now,but still if you want you have to buy Helmet Larger then your actual size which will not be comfortable, and tinted one does the same job as the Goggles or specs does for us, so its pointless to have enough space between Tinted visor & your eyes, but may be who knows you may get a odd one...

The formula is simple, the more refractive strain you put on your eyes, the more difficult it is for your eyes to catch up with the real world. I myself we my glasses even with helmet on. But not multi layers of visor.

If you intend to use your glasses in a helmet that has dual visor, I'd suggest you not to do so, unless you're not so keen on bringing down the internal visor and happy with just the external and your glasses.

Second, you can go ahead and use tinted visor along normal prescription glasses, ONLY IN DAYLIGHT. The same rule applies, no internal visor, just the external tinted plus your prescription glasses.

Remember, the rule is simple, the more refractive index you add to your eye, the more it strains your vision and your perception of the outside/inside the helmet.

Both Cross and LS2 are manufactured by the same company in China, MHR Helmets. Cross is an Indian brand owned by Noble Enterprises, located in Jaipur who is also an importer of LS2. Hence similarities are likely since shells are from the same source. Primary difference would be in graphics choices. Very simply, just look at the visors embossed lettering - both will bear MHR initials.

Vijay- spot on!

May I also suggest photo-chromatic prescription lenses which turn dark in bright sunlight?

Another easy and simple solution for riders who do not do much night riding is to switch to a tinted visor for daytime use, while you can simply keep the visor open in the night since your eyes are protected from dust and dirt by the prescription lenses anyway.

Did the second option back when I couldn't afford photo-chromatics , did the photo-chromatics when I could afford them, and as I grew older, switched to contacts.

Photo-cromatic? Yes sir! Affordability, oh no no no sir! But then, I presume that it has certain disadvantages, I might be wrong, pls correct me know if am wrong. The photo-cromatic stuff doesn't work well inside a car or something that has a glass in front, isn't the same case with our visor plus even worse on a tinted visor?

I reckon, it works well directly under sunlight, and plus it takes a full minute to two to change from black to the lens' color, right sir. If that's the case, then we have no practical use on them, at least from what I understand from these lenses sir!

Actually they work pretty well with clear visors. The tint takes about a minute to darken or lighten but not an issue unless you're riding through tunnels - personal experience!
