It's impossible to install an external visor to an moto-cross helmet that doesn't have the required mechanism in place. That said, most of the helmets do come with internal visors or some even don't. If you have issue regarding water splashing during driving, get yourself a moto cross goggles which is cool and would suffice a motocross.

If you don't way to spend teh extra on goggles then go for Gliders.

Regarding the helmet selection, a full face helmet is way better than a motocross helmet. I still wonder why people wear motocross helmets of street. It looks cool, agreed, but ultimately it's just a showoff.

If you want to get good protection regardless of speed, go for Studds Scorpion or Ninja or the Studds Rhyno, both all these three doesn't cost more than
        3k.

        Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
        The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

        • Hey everyone,

OK, looking in SHOPS IN CHENNAI (don't have time to buy online) for the following:
          - Full face street helmet
          - ECE or DOT approved (real, not fake)
          - Less than 4-5k
          - Design not important, but black if they have it
          - Removable inserts

Possible? Which shops stock imports? I have only seen LS2's with ECE on them, but those are Chinese and I can't tell if they're real.

Also can anyone reflect on tinted vs clear visors? I won't be driving at night, and it seems like most of the helmets come with tinted visors.

Does anyone have facts comparing ISI to other safety standards? I've seen lots of opinions but not many facts.

          Thanks!
          Matt

            • New LiD

              Hello Everyone,

Been a very long time! Hope everyone is doing great!

I am considering a new lid and my budget is ~4.5k [+/- 500 should be ok if the helmet is worth the buy]. My priority of the new lid are
              1. Light weight
              2. DOT Certified
              3. Anti scratch, clear visor with an optional day visor [I mean the lids that includes both tinted and clear visors]
              4. Removable cheek pads
              5. Low noise at high speeds

I already own an LS2 and wish to try another brand. I have SOL SF1 [meets most of my requirements] and RJays Samurai_mattblack in my mind but wish to take some suggestions.

Try Helmet Paradise and Megha Paradise(This one is good, apparently many from South India come here)
Check if the helmets are DOT certified.
So, can I find good selection of designs in Megha Paradise? Does any of them provide any sort of discount?

The smoke is 60% tinted which means pretty dark but is usable even at night under city lights, though I would not recommend it!
