I have quick clarification on SOL SF01 vs. SL68s, I really liked SL68s because of the graphics. Does Visor for both the helmets are same or its different or its just the shell which is different??? And
In terms of weight does SOL is equalant or lighter compared with Airoh??

I didn't get M-size in SOL when I visited the helmet shop last week and was not happy with SOL SF01 graphics because SL68s was not in display and more over I didn't knew about SL68s earlier... specially after trying out Daijya helmet with real cool graphics, the fit and feel was amazing with a inner pump to adjust the fit..but didn't go for it because I wasn't sure if the helmet is genuine or fake, there was no certification embossed on the helmet and the guy was also quoting Rs.4750/- (online price)...

Any advice on SOL (SF vs SL) vs. Any other recommendations on good Helmet with budget of Rs.5k/- will be a Great help....

    Thanks!
I have been using the GMax GM68 for few months now. Ordered it from U.S. A very good product for the price you pay and as we can see now SOL is bringing similar product to India at an even cheaper price: 4700 INR (I bought for over 120 $ plus international shipping charges).

Do try it and as posted by Sunny.side.up you can go through the link for all possible details and reviews.

In my opinion it delivers what it promises: Comfort, protection, looks and ventilation.

Above all it is DOT approved.

One comment that I have regarding the GMax that I own is the chin strap locking arrangement is manual (D ring). Don't know if SOL is providing with the auto locking (quick release) types.

    All the best.

Sorry if this post of mine is uncalled for. For 13k I remember nisarg (tulinisarg) got an agv helmet from abroad (riders discount) with shipping and duties included. And that was a DOT/Snell approved lid.

Where did you source this lid from?

SOL helmets come with D ring. I was so satisfied with SOL SF01 model and after looking at SL68s graphics bought another.

Why is that you have considered "quick release" as Cons. isn't it a better comfort than the D rings.

                  • Ladies Helmet Full Face with lift + Helmet lock for 2 helmets

                    Hi Guys,

Need to get a full face helmet with lift mechanism for my wife(a la Ninja). She would not go for full face to start with so one with a lift mech is what well make her used to wearing helmets.

I have looked at Ninja (i have one) and boolean from Vega (India) but none of them come in size S. Can any one suggest a good alternative to these in size S ?

Also, do suggest a sturdy helmet lock which can secure 2 full face helmets. The usual ones do not have enough room for the Ninja.

                    Thanks,

Varun - SOL is the parent manufacturing company. The helmets are sold under the GMax label only in North America under a proprietary licensing agreement, and sold as SOL everywhere else in the world. So the helmets are more than just similar - they're the same, except for the branding. I think you have a 68s Max graphic?

Harsh - I'm not sure of the dates, but suggest you keep in touch with the support centre at Spartan ProGear.

Yuv- Many consider the double D-rings superior in terms of safety as it's impossible to come loose in a crash - thereby reducing the chances of your helmet coming off your head. Of course, its also a preference thing - almost all DOT ( read US ) helmets will come with D-rings while many ECE (read European) helmets use the ratchet quick release.

Personally I found the D rings a royal nuisance initially but after getting used to them, love them!

@Sunnyside_up: Yes your are right . I just visited the SOL website and cleared my doubts. They are made at Anyng Industrial Co. Ltd. of Taiwan and sold as GMax only in North America and as SOL else where.

Yes, mine is GM68 MAX graphic.

Hi Guys, my two month old LS2 Dream:

Bought it from Helmet Paradise for 2.5k.

Love the simple Graphics and the Dream Racer art on it.

Forgive the Nokia 5233 for the poor images.

Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.

I have a LS2 phobia, the inside of the helmet gets fogged inspite of the breath deflector
