Just bought an LS2 Phobia from Chopra Helmets, Karol Bagh for 2.7K. I suck at bargaining and I was grinning like a jerk (as it is my first helmet ) so didn't even bother trying but thanks to my superbiker contacts, I got a discount of 100 bucks (I think). Posting a few pics -

as most of my riding is in city only on gearless

I don't think it is a good idea to get a Helmet shipped from the US, I am very doubtful of the handling, once it reaches our great nation.

I picked up an Arai Corsair V last year from RD at a similar price, and I first got it shipped to a friend's place in the US and then I hand carried it personally.

I think customs will simply slap a 30% duty on the invoice value of the merchandise if it is coming by post.

I'm getting AGV rossi edition from RD in jan .My uncle is coming from USA so he is getting it here , We need to pay any customs duty if riding gears are brought by him with invoice to india????

Got the ARAI RX7 GP - leon haslam edition yesterday . According to the Arai helmet sizing charts my size should've been XS, based on a head circumference of 53 cm, but that was painfully tight after i tried it at the prs store .
So i ordered one size larger and voila , a perfectly snug fit !

Great buy! One of the safest helmets money can buy.

Personally, I prefer the Arai Profile to the RX7 GP because of the comfort lining and the much cheaper sticker tag. The RX7 GP is very noisy too, though the ventilation is unmatched.

Hi got myself a LS2 Supra on 1/08/11 in Mangalore,the dealer quoted 3500 but got it for 3400.Dealer also told me the prices have gone up from 2800 since july. I also saw ls2 speed and pistonhead being retailed for the same price .They had a ECE 22.05 sticker and ISI mark too but then Supra has got a slightly better fit with the airpump so couldn't understand why the pricing is the same?
Anyone knows their current prices in bangalore?

As some of you may know, Bachoo Motors is the sole distributor in India for RJays products (gear, luggage, helmets, etc.) and is also now a distributor for Airoh Helmets, Italy. Here is a link to the official Airoh helmets website.

I searched for reviews on Airoh helmets here, but couldn't find any.

Orion Yamaha near Forum Mall, Blore, has quite a few of these helmets (they are retailers for Bachoo Motors) and i particularly had my eyes set on the Speed Fire One (link). The helmet is lighter than my SparX and the paint quality, fit and finish, graphics is excellent. This particular model is priced very reasonably too (around Rs. 7.5k at Orion) compared to the price of Rs. 8.5k i paid for my SparX. I was so tempted that i almost bought this lid. It looks really awesome in the flesh.

Most imported helmets are manufactured in China or Korea or some other Asian country (A* products are mass produced in China, my bionic knee guards are genuine A* but made in China) but the Airoh's are Made in Italy and are DOT certified.

I would highly recommend this helmet in lieu of SparX, KBC, etc. for the price point at which it is offered.

Orion also has HJC helmets at a festive price until stocks last. The HJC's are on sale for 7k onwards and there is a Rs. 500/- off on purchase of each HJC lid until stocks last. These are DOT certified.

Personally i am not a fan of the graphics on the HJC's but for those who are on the lookout for a good helmet this price and the ongoing offer should be helpful.

one of my friend ordered riding boots which were under 10k and he didnt have any problem with the customs and he received them at his door step within promised time frame.

thats why i am afraid to order anything which values more than 10k from U.S

Regarding the Handling: It is not an issue according to me as the packing was up to the mark.

FYI my current shipment is still not delivered so I cannot really advise you to go ahead even with the price being below 10K.

All i can say is with my first order I was lucky and maybe this time I am not .

But in any case if they are not able to deliver for lets say 2 or 3 months you can ask for a refund.

i must say, its amazingly light. and especially after using Daijya, its a delight to wear.
