My only grouse about Daijya was PlanetDSG was not responsive on the origins of the product plus the Samurai thingy that I had fallen for - was like carrying a truck load of bricks on my head - 3rd, I fell for the "comfort" after wearing than the actual fit - they didn't have lower sizes in that model.

Talking of ISI branding - Even the helmets sold on the footpath carry the glorious ISI sticker and the quality of the product is appalling to say the least.

    So the SparX!

Please note this is not to debate on anybody's opinion about any product.

Truck load of bricks? LOL Really had a hearty laugh on that point! I tried wearing Sunny ji's Daijya Carbon helmet when he was in my hometown for the GIR ride, and +1 to your comment, the helmet is heavy.

Yes, SparX is good and it's Chinese

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

I love "Made in China" products! And yeah it did feel that heavy more to the fact that I am slim built.

        • Went offroading and got to know one more use of the helmet's padding..

Its a good place for lizards and insects to sleep

I slept in between the rocks seen in the pic next to the helmet..

Early morning quickly wore the helmet and rode the bike for about 5-10mins...i constantly could feel something moving inside my helmet..but thought it must be the cap of the offroading helmet moving..

Got off the bike and removed the helmet only to find this

Moral is never sleep in crevices where creatures are supposed to sleep and if you do...even if you dont check your baggage..make sure you check your helmet first !

The Midnight Offroading - Telbaila thread is up...Please have a look..

From my experience, many of my buddies have the LS2 and yes LS2 costs somewhere around 2.3 to 2.5k and to 4.5k. Base price starts at 2.5k range, a 2.5K helmet is 2.5k everywhere. Most helmets in the budget range max at about 2.5k range, not much as far as I know. And there are helmets in the range of 3.8 to 4k range too, so make sure which model you want and do some research that it's priced appropriately.

I want to make sure you do this before you buy a helmet. Make sure, a same helmet is not priced differently, say 2.5k helmet like 3k - 3.5k or more etc elsewhere. If yes, try for the least priced dealer. Because some gain advantage by conversion rates like euro, dollar etc. So it's best to go with the least priced in this case.

                    Hope this helps!

                    Cheers!

                      • Hi guys, this might be out of what is in discussion currently. Sorry!

I wanted to know how to clean the helmet interior in a case where the inner pads and fabric is not removable/detachable. Once I had tried washing it with a detergent solution and (as you might have already guessed it!:P) the pads came off!! Actually, the 'solution-gum' which helps the pads bond, might have got dissolved.

                        Any solutions? Thanks

                          LOL, gum??

Yes the "GUM" for non-removable helmets are pretty messy and I've heard many a times they use the same glue used for sticking shoe soles.

Now there is none other way to wash the helmet except to dunk the helmet inside luke warm water, which I did for my very very very old Vega Formula GP.

I don't recommend detergent, in anyway. All non-removable padded helmets do not necessarily needed to be washed using detergent. Just luke warm water and soak for a while and rinse for three to four times, the helmet becomes brand new.

Go to your local shoe wallah, get the rubber based glue he uses, give him 10 to 20 bucks and he'd be happy to give you a bottle full. And make sure the helmet is DRIED completely before you use the glue, cos you don't wanna make a mess with the glue.

Don't use Anabond, Fevikwik and stuff, waste of money and waste of glue, it won't stick to the helmet sides.

                          All the best "gumming"

                          Cheers!

I would not recommend drowning the entire helmet inside water.
It doesn't clean the liner properly and takes a century to dry too.

What I always do is, pull off the liner completely, it takes a hard pull as everything inside is held together.
Once the liner is removed, give it a very nice machine wash.

Once everything is finished and dried off, stick the liner back on the edges using an insulation tape, as our helmets have a thermo col lining, most of the helmets have the inner liner taped to it.

After that, apply loads of silicon gel over the thermo col and push it back inside the shell.
Give it 1 day to dry properly, and your good to go.

I've tried this many many times on my Vega Boolean as well as Studds Ninja, its a process that you can do over and over again with no DE-merits.

Give it a try, hope it works.
